Heard on WGR that Sabres offered Suter and Parise 100 million dollar contracts. That got my blood pumping a little bit. Pegula will pay the price to put an all star team on the ice. Will Buffalo be able to entice these players to come to Buffalo?
not so sure that Kokomo Indiana is any better.. it is a "city" that had a population based upon a chrysler plant... the plant shut down during the recession.. it may have since opened back up but i am not sure - SabresFaninIndiana
I was going to apply there about 12 years ago... Luckily It didn't work out with the girl. She got fat.
2. Imagine next year, Vanek, Pommer, Staff, Ott all still under contract. + all the youth.
We could see lines like this:
Vanek, Hodgson, Pommer
Foligno, Ennis, Stafford
Ott, Girgensons, Kaleta/Gerbe
Leino, Grigorenko, Armia
Myers, McNabb
Ehrhoff, Pysyk
Sekera, Weber
Personally, I like to dream that Joe Finley will develop as a skater and fill in that 6th defenseman role. We would have two 6'8" and a 6'5" Dman, that would be imposing. But I would rather put someone who can play rather than just size on this roster. but that would be cool.
Now we need to draft some more D men, as we are getting thin at top level prospects after McNabb and Pysyk.
Also, Do you think that Robyn Regehr will be back after this year when his contract ends? Hodgson will be expecting a substantial raise and we will have to worry about the numbers for the next summer when we will have Vanek, Pominville, Ott, Foligno and McNabb to worry about, especially with Foligno and McNabb who will demand serious raises. Is there room for Regehr and his salary cap hit with all that going on? But we did uproot him and convince him to go all in with the Sabres. Does that mean we owe him anyting? like a contract offer?

Even if Girgorenko starts the season as number 1 center and gets 20 points in the first 20 games Lindy Ruff will not stand for that, he will complain the rookie made a bad pass and the next thing you know he will be on the 4th line playing 5 minutes per game with Ellis and McCormick. Then Lindy will say "if he wants to get more playing time he needs to get 5 scoring chances per game" LOL, 5 scoring chances playing 3-5 mins per game(what he said about Luke Adam). Then after shell shocking the kid with negative talk Lindy will say in the paper that the kid "has lost his confidence".

Usually I would get this but I think it went way over my head... - jochfr
hmmm not sure how to put this in a manner which is not considered inappropriate on here... but the "went way over my head" comment really makes me want to say something about going on her head

I tell the truth... Lindy Ruff is the most negative person ever, Many guys say he never says one positive word to them ever, just negative stuff. Young guys lose confidence playing for him, and switching lines all the time will never help a guys scoring streak. It's a good thing guys like Ennis don't listen to Lindy and his "how to score at the NHL level". Remember when Ennis was called up and Lindy had to teach him how to score? I'm surprised Ennis didn't get benched for all those amazing 2 on 1 passes he made with Stafford and Foligno, Paul Hamilton said Lindy tells guys to shoot on 2 on 1s never pass. Lindy was a poop hockey player and couldn't teach skill guys how to brush their teeth.
When Sanderson came to Buffalo, Lindy said "Geoff is not a goal scorer anymore"...Way to inspire confidence in your new player.
