Why do we need Doan or Ryan? We already have the two greatests top line playoff scoring wingers in the NHL(Vanek and Pominville-turtle). Remember poms scored that big playoff goal 7 years ago? What more do you want? We are talking about a city to wants to put up a statue of Brad May who has 4 career playoff goals in 88 games. You don't need to score goals to win playoff games, just play grunts like goose 19 mins. |

well Vanek and Ryan are both 30 goal scorers ...... we will consider that a tie.
But Ryan is a much better skater, good passer, and is 6'2 and a tank. He brings physical part to this team when Vanek just carries around a man purse all game long.
As for Doan: seasoned vet, still doesnt look old, Hits, brings leadership. (i really think hes overrated) |

big-time...they have very little up-front - b0s0o1
They actually scored last year... Losing Weber and Suter would be losing 2 of their top 5 scorers. |

Apparently standing in front of the net getting beat on all game isn't worth mentioning. Just because he's not out there putting other guys through the boards, doesn't mean that he's not tough. |

Its okay, some people on here have a very narrow view on what being "tough" is. Vanek is tough in his own right. And is effective at what he does.
Not saying I wouldnt want Ryan, I would pass on Doan though. I almost want a trade to happen just to get excited about something. |

Difficult to have any type of sympathy for the players association when we continue to see deals like this, not just with the NHL but with every league now. |

Ott on WGR right now. Talking about comparing Stars fans to Sabres fans. How his dinner was, how his girlfriend is scared of snow. Also mentioned how having John Scott on our team lets him play with "more stones"
Very well spoken, pretty surprised. |

because its not his style of game, but that certainly doesnt make him small or weak. he takes more of a beating in the "dirty" areas of the ice then most guys on the team |

The English Premier League has no cap and has been around since 1888 without ever having a lockout.
