Even still. He really seemed like he wanted out of Nashville. I didn't think he'd sign an offer sheet that could lock him in there long term. - HonkFortheGoose
If the contract doesn't include a NTC or NMC, he could demand a trade out of Nashville after they match. I wonder if the Flyers left out a NTC or NMC for that reason and have a deal in place to offer if the Predators match. |

Exactly. The Flyers may have Just done Nashville a major solid here. - nfph
I'm sure Poile is probably licking his chops if that's the case. There's no way that they don't match, and now Holmgren just did his job for him. |

Well, if that's what happens, I will lose a lot of respect for him because that's just crazy. That would be setting a precedent that would not be good for the league at all. |

First of all, you're late to the party
Second of all, you don't know any more than anyone else around here. Try not to act like you do. - HonkFortheGoose
PS. Who's the next RFA domino? You obviously know it is O'reilly.

I can't see the Preds not matching this. - bobert836
He's in a nice spot, lock your star up to a lifetime deal at a reasonable hit (less than they would have spent next year and possibly for a term that would be banned under the new CBA) or look at holding 8 1st round picks in the next 4 years. |

completely forgot about that. If they don't match they could definitely pull in someone significant via trade with those picks |

Shea Weber is the hidden domino.
If Doan does not pan out and Weber does not sign by August 1, I would not be surprised if Buffalo gives him a long term contract and gives Nashvile a huge package deal for Weber....we can afford to give 3 defensemen and 2 forwards to get Weber and perhaps even a goalie like Enroth. - RicoMartin

Wow. I didn't think he'd sign an offer sheet. He could end up stuck in Nashville forever now. I thought for sure he'd ride out the year he had left and then hit the market next July. - HonkFortheGoose
Maybe he wants to stay in Nashville and this is his way of forcing Poile's hand in a long term or bust deal. |

I doubt it. From the comments he made after Suter left, he had no intention of staying in Nashville long term without his buddy there with him. |

That's because Reiger was trying to do it the ethical way...not with an offer sheet.
Nashville might now just trade his rights out of spite......Ithink they can do that for the best offer and let another team match the offer or take the picks......the next seven days will be interesting.......see ya |

His only comment was he was disappointed that Suter didnt stay. He did say hes out. You dont sign an offer sheet long term knowing Nashville could offer and stay there. If you dont want to be there. |
