Incredible draft, along with very good development in the system... absolutely they jumped. But getting a prospect I had at first overall and a very likely first line center into the pipeline can do wonders

fair enough... Just remember for next time though, that if MTL is within 3 spots of the Leafs, move them so they slot in 1 spot behind us, just for kicks

Edit: Also, is there going to be a detailed analysis for each team's prospects or just the overview?

so you had a kid that wasn't considered first overall by most, going into the season, and then only played a handful of games, first overall?

Caron graduated, Spooner's development is starting to make me go "meh" at this point, Hamill's gone, Soderberg at this point isn't a prospect, and Koko jumping ship has me worried.

While Toronto added Rielly and Finn. I battled it out between them a lot. Both have stud top prospects in Rielly and Hamilton, though.

Pittsburgh Penguins should be higher with defense prospect of Despres, Maata, Harrington, Morrow, Pouliot and Samuelsson.

COLBORNE: Somewhere in between. I've always said of Colborne is that he'll be a guy who's the "third best" on his line, because he's not one to drive the play and play with that fiery disposition in his belly to make things happen every shift, but what he does well is open space with his body, cycle the puck, make nice passes, and make himself an option. He would compliment two high-end wingers well.

However, he's not as bad as he was at the end of the year. Took in a handful of Marlies playoff games, and you could tell he couldn't even move his wrist. He's usually a guy who can back you off a bit with some puck skills, but he just looked like he didn't want the puck.

BIGGS: Was only at Dev. Camp briefly, so thoughts are just that-- brief. Was wondering whether he was a north-south Top Nine Forward, or whether I thought of him as a complimentary Top Six Power Forward. I'll say this--- skating improved a heck of a lot, and it was never a real issue. Has a lot of power cut moves in his arsenal, but needs to learn when to use them. He can shoot real well too. The only issue is that hockey sense, of how to create offense. My opinion on him is this--- he'll 100x need to be paired with a top end center who can create offense.

I project him to be a top end center. Why wouldn't I rank that first? I'm not the only one to do so, either.

I realize you weren't the only one.....I just don't see the reasoning. What exactly did he do to increase his draft stock?
He was the darling of the draft by bloggers.

However CSS had him as number 4 for North American skaters and ISS had him 14 overall. It was a pretty clear consensus that Nail was number 1 overall and had a great season cementing that position. But....if you feel a guy who played half a dozen games did enough to pass him in the rankings then far be it from me to argue.

My opinion of Yakupov has always been this--- great skill, but how long is he gonna play? That's my issue. Nothing against him, because he is a top end prospect, but that reckless play worries me a whole bunch.

No prob. Keep in mind with Biggs, I expect one of those careers where numbers jump around a lot. He's an opportunistic scorer, who cashes in on loose change and such. One year he'll score 10/12 and people will be down on him, the next he roars back with a 20 goal campaign type thing.

I'm sticking to that as my assessment of him, so far.

He really impressed at the Pens rookie camp. Many viewed him as better then Beau Bennett. I can't say much though I've only seen Marcantuoni on TV. Perhaps dropping like a rock in the draft or the future promise of maybe being on Crosbys wing has motivated him.

Wow, Philly is last? We may want to keep some of those picks away from Nashville. Not much love for Cousins or Laughton?
