No offense Clouts ... but we don't need more defensive depth/ prospects. We need a bona fide top 4, if not a top pairing defender who will make an immediate impact. Bowmeester would have fit that bill, but Klesla, Erixon, Blum, etc do not.

Might as well...sign them while you can ink them for lower. If they wait, they could be adding a mill per year by the time it comes up for renewal.

As for the blog, I agree. Frustrating to see Oilers doing nothing on the trade/signing front. Other than resigning some guys we knew they would and justin schultz....nothing.

Lowe, Tambi and MacT are shooting themselves in the feet with the inactivity. They could have signed Taylor Hall and Jordan Eberle to six year, $5.5mil per season contract extensions a few months ago. Because they've done nothing, stupid teams like Carolina have overpaid someone like Jeff Skinner on his extension, driving up what Hall and Eberle will expect to receive. If the offensively-skilled but one dimensional Jeff Skinner is a $5.725mil per season player starting in 2013/2014, you can pencil Hall and Ebs in at $7mil per each. Thanks Jim Rutherford. Having one Jay Feaster in the NHL was bad enough. Now we have two. Didn't Rutherford also give the incredibly overrated Jordan Staal 10 years, $60mil? Moronic.

Richard, you are awfully hard on Tambellini aren't you? I am from the Edmonton area and know a bit about that organization. I still, to this day, believe that Tambi is a puppet and Lowe is still pulling the strings. I say that until Lowe is moved out, Edmonton will not make much progress outside of the draft. IMO.
