I just think the Neuvirth meant in terms of pedigree that Holtby is a less of a challenge. Varlamov was a former 1st round pick, and Vokoun had his career legacy to ride on. This time they are on a equal standing and he just has to play better than Holtby and he won't lose out on his spot because of status.

I am tired of the crosby bashing, its kind of old and nothing really new and clever is said. if people are going to other team blogs and talk about a player, at least bring something new or funny to the table. its like complaining about derek jeter. If you are not a yankees fan, there is nothing he can do right but for the chance for that guy to be one your team, well ......but it will be over soon as everyone will focus their anger on bettman and the season not starting.

i am a pens fan and i am a hockey fan. i want the best players on the ice because i want to see professional hockey. the concussion issue was a worry previously not just with Sid but with several skilled players. now the suggested roll back of salaries, cap space, years until UFA (ten? get out!) and no arbitration and my only concern is WHEN a season will start because there will be a lock out on sept 15. at least if folks are still trolling, ill hope there is potential for a season.

A Final Rumor - Rumor is, all NHL teams might be incredibly active attempting to make deals before the September 15th lockout date. I suspect Ales Hemsky and a defenseman (Andy Sutton, perhaps) will be moved to acquire a steady, decent quality veteran defenseman. Paul Martin from Pittsburgh is completely possible, although I'm not a huge fan of the idea. Martin disappointed last season, and he makes $5mil per (three years left on his deal). Moving Sutton shifts a bad contract, evening up the deal for the Oilers.
