I have a hard time to see Kovalev in Jeremy Morin but that´s just me. |

More based on his one-shot scoring ability. Morin plays the game harder and doesn't float. |

Brian Huddle: Top 10 Prospects: Chicago Blackhawks - Brian Huddle
Because of my glaring bias, I am sad to see Mark McNeill ranked 4th instead of 1st, because out of his draft year I was furious the Leafs didn't try to get him. He was my absolute fav player in that general draft area. |

Hah. He's a good prospect for sure, and the Leafs would be well off if they had a center prospect like him in the system, an area of legit concern with Colborne struggling, and not knowing where Kadri will be long term. |

Hah. Just more of a stylistic comparison. Beach could be a similar player, but he really needs to get back on track. Started the season so well after some bumps in development, and then had the shoulder hurt.
He's one of the more skilled of the "old school" power forward prospects like Tom Wilson and such. |

Danault should be much higher, his projection may be a 3rd line centre but he'll be ready very soon and and I think he has the best shot at long term success in the NHL.
My Top 10 Prospect Rankings
1. Teravainen
2. Danault
3. Saad
4. McNeill
5. Olsen
6. Pirri
7. Morin
8. B. Smith
9. K. Hayes
10. J Hayes
(I'd rank Beach at #11) |

I absolutely love Jeremy Morin, absolutely incredible hockey IQ. He's improved his skating big time since I watched him in Kitchener which seemed like the only thing that could have held him back then. Hopefully he makes the jump soon could see him being a mainstay in that top 6 for years in chi town |

Brian Huddle: Top 10 Prospects: Chicago Blackhawks - Brian Huddle
Brandon Saad #1 prospect? I think you're drinking too much of the kool-aid that's being passed out by the Hawk Department of Hype. It should be the Finn, TT.
Whether if you're going by your listing or Darth's, the thing I find troubling is that there's only one d-man listed. Also, if the list was expanded to the top 25, there might be a goalie at 24 or 25. |

It is troubling that we lack defensemen in our top prospects. Clendening would be the next best defensive prospect after Olsen, but would he crack the top 10 list of prospects? Not likely. Lalonde (sorry Ogi) and Lavin may have a shot at the NHL one day, but they are certainly not hot prospects.
I hope Stan addresses the lack of defensive prospects in the next draft. Since 2005 we've only 1 defenseman in the first round, which was Olsen in 2009. |

Clendening would likely roll in at 11. He's a good prospect, but I think of him as a more of a #4 PP specialist type guy eventually. Definitely need more Dmen int he system, but that being said... it's a good system.

I'm not a Blackhawks fan... at all. I'm a prospect writer with zero ties to any hype machine or to the city of Chicago. I've watched Saad play... a lot. I'm based out of Ontario, and have seen him play about 20 live games in the past 2 years (not including tv games).
This is my honest assessment.
