I was at that Canucks game (I was 11 and it was my first NHL game). Best game I've ever seen live.

Happy Birthday Chris Pronger! Get better soon! Even if you'll never play hockey again, get better soon

Happy 38th birthday to Flyers defenseman Chris Pronger. May the coming year bring continued progress in his recovery from post-concussion syndrome.

Great to hear about the 'continued progress', last I remember hearing he was not progressing at all. Hopefully he can get back to a normal way of life for his family.

Made the mistake of watching the Boulerice crosscheck and then spent the last hour watching flyers fights on youtube.

I came across the Penguins playoff series scraps where Letang bravely squared off with timmonen, Neal ran Couts and Schenn, and Asham cheap shotting Schenn.

If and i know its a big if there is hockey this season. Someone bettter take a run at Neal and Letang.

Hopefully cindy looses some teeth this season also. His bs started the letang/timmonen fight, among other nonsense.

It's a good time. Flyers are undefeated.

Happy Birthday Chris. Keep getting better. We are all hoping for a much improved year for the Pronger Family.

No headaches today, 20.

Nobody deserves to have to give up this sport because of headaches. Nobody. It's a terrible terrible thing but it's also the sad reality of the dangerous sport.

Like Bill said- may this year and years beyond bring relief to both you and your family.

But, as we've all heard- even from you- it's a day to day thing. Some days you're well, others you're not.

I sincerely hope today is one that you are well.

I was at the 8-2 Flyers Canucks game as well. Richards and Carter were flying around the ice that night, I think Richie scored a shortie when they were 2 man down. I had such high hopes for them as the future core of the team.

Walking out to the car I remember one Canuck fan was irate and seemed just bat poop crazy, yelling Hartnell sucks at me over and over.

Didn't richards fight bieksa in that game? I remember hes fought him a few times, did they have altercations in jr or something?

They had a couple of fights but I think the first one was the following year. On the opening shift Bieksa landed a semi late hit on Gagne that injured Gagne.
Richards then went after Bieksa and Bieksa hammered him.
They fought again the following year and Richards got killed again.
For his size Bieksa is pretty tough, and he gets that insane look in his eyes.
He would have been a great Flyer.

You know the nice thing about this blog? If I spend my morning reading the online columns and newspapers and then I come here for the blog I'm not rereading someone else's column from another online source. How bloggers on this site can think that regurgitating other columnists ideas as their own will wash is beyond me but it happens all the time.
