While one might think that an established NHL starter in his prime would be an automatic upgrade in goal over a player who only had a brief NHL stint and primarily played in the minors and Europe, that is not necessarily the case.

yeah i can understand that...but the game is a little different from the KHL and NHL...
plus you throw in the fact that I guess the team might want a consistent presence versus a player that will jump from the team as soon as the lockout got settled.
no one knew the lockout would last this long... |

Bill, what are the chances that if the NHL agrees to an amnesty buy out that the Flyers buy out Bryzgalov? They are going to have to cut some serious payroll to get under the new cap. |

I had a pretty good idea when Fehr was hired. This was always going to go at least this far. Hopefully it will come to an end soon but i'm pessimistic. I wish they'd never fired Paul Kelly. I really think with him at the helm they'd be playing hockey right now. |

And they would also then need a #1 Goalie. So the chances aren't very good.

And Bettman and the Owners do? This CBA negotiation was never about the game. From either side. It's about money. |

I just figured there could be cheaper options since he really wasn't living up to expectations. |

Water under the bridge and no changing it now but i really would've liked to see how Bob would mature in a Flyers uniform. |

Im finally glad that MJL has come to the conclusion that this is all about money....Players and owners are killing this game everyday this goes on. Poor players....poor owners....(frank) them both |

When you believe in something, part of that is having the courage to stand alone!

At least his comment was relevant. Whether Fehr ever donned a pair of skates is truly irrelevant. |

Cheaper? Sure.
Better? Nope.
At least as good? Nope.
I think Bryz will be fine. When the puck drops again he'll be the uncontested #1 and will get a lot of playing time. I think he's better with a heavier workload. |

I think he'd be better playing behind Phoenix's team defense. Flyers team defense sucks. |

It's not like Bettman is known for lacing them up, either. |
