Waking up to the news today was great. Still tempered by being pissed that they took so long to reach a deal. - Jsaquella

I agree, but with that being said I think this helps the Flyers. It gave the injured players time to heal up and some of the older players a longer rest. Kimmo in particular should benefit from the shorter season and we all know how badly this team is going to need him. Now that season is on, I'm trying to look at the positives for the Flyers.

Also, huge props to mediator Scot Beckenbaugh for his yeoman work in getting these two sides to finally get a deal done. Mr Beckenbaugh was vital to the process and deserves the thanks of all NHL fans. |

The financial aspects hurt the Flyers, but that's something to be fully seen |

The one and only person that comes away looking heroic from this mess is mediator Scot Beckenbaugh. Without him, I think the two warring sides very well could have burned down the other half of the village come Friday. - bmeltzer
I hope the fans burn down the other side by staying away. Attend if you've already bought season tickets (like my family), pay for concessions to help the folks most hurt by the lockout, etc. but otherwise spend NO additional money on these incompetents. |

I just looked at what you said & that would be something you'd never be able to get out of your mind. |

So, you'll politely refuse on those nights when there's a spare ticket floating around your house, right? Or will you go because it's your civic duty to give a few bucks to the concessioneers?

Any word on what the schedule will look like? I'm assuming only conference games.
Does the trade deadline date change?

If the NHL gives a rats ass about the fans, they will make the Center Ice Package free for everyone. |

I have heard that this will be the case, but only by some on here. They need to make nice with the fans and a thank you on the ice won't cut it. |

I will believe it when I see it. It's only going to be a 48 game schedule, they should absolutely do it. I'm not holding my breath though. |

Ive caught games online for free for years.
All while the NHL has been trying to get such outlets shut down.
They can go shove center ice... |

It will definately be interesting to see what teams do around that deadline.
I dont think you will see a lot of trades this season as many teams will be in the hunt. |

yes and in 95 Trade deadline was
Trading deadline: April 7, 1995; April 7, 1995: D Petr Svoboda traded from Buffalo to Philadelphia for D Garry Galley. |

I hear you Nutter, but watching streaming video online isn't the same as watching on TV. The fact that all games aren't available in HD on Center Ice is simply mind boggling to me. |

TSN just said 50 games beginning Jan 15th or 48 on Jan 19th. Depends on speed of ratification. |
