I would love to have weber on the team but I think the oilers should just stick to the plan and keep drafting and developing great players. I think they should draft a big center(lazar) in the first round this year and pick up a couple d in the second. We don't want to take on to much cap. We still need to sign these top prospects in the next couple of years and the cap is only going to go down.

I think the main flaw in your Weber argument, and the main one I could see people talking about, is that Nashville doesn't need or even want to move him. They're perfectly fine financially and Weber wants to be there, so in any trade scenario Tambellini would have to approach the Preds and give them an offer that blew Poile away. Imagine objectively if it's Eberle, if anyone want him they're going to have to overpay to get him, same thing with Weber.

I'm surprised you haven't been talking about Jamie Benn. Dallas is having a hard time resigning him and he would look great centering our second line.

Maybe because we all think that if push came to shove, Dallas will sign him. They are not in a great position, but they need him badly to be the face of the franchise and they know it to sell tickets. They would ask for Yak back, and I don't see Tambi doing that. It would be Gags and a 1st at least, but the stars won't do that either.

Sure would be nice, him and Ebs showed incredible chemistry when they played together. Sigh, nice to dream the dream though...

Pittsburgh snatched Neal out of their hands for Goligoski, maybe Tambi can pull of a similar robbery. Gagner, Klefbom, and a 1st for Benn anyone?

Just my opinion but I think Redden signs in Ottawa. They have some injuries on the back end. League minimum. Just a thought

Peckham was back on the ice skating yesterday so the Oilers have a decision to make regarding him. I think we've already wasted too much time trying to develop him. If we can't get a low draft pick or a player for OKC in a trade for him, I say we cut him loose on the waiver wire. He's slow and takes stupid penalties. Not to mention he doesn't show the same drive that our other young guys possess. If you can't be in shape as a professional athlete you don't want to be one that badly

I have a valid excuse. I got carried away with fantasy hockey leagues tonight. It got so bad that my wife, in protest, started playing Whitney Houston songs really, really loud to punish me for the six-hours

Hockey fans struggle with amnesia, I'm noticing. Do you remember the last time Oilers GM signed a bunch of half-assed UFA's? Belanger? Disaster. Eager? Disaster. Sutton? Not a disaster, but he hasn't helped. Hordichuk? He hands out water bottles to players who actually play. The only decent UFA signing from the Summer of Steve was Corey Potter, and Potter is a 6/7 defenseman. Why would the Oilers want more of that?

I could just imagine how much better we'd be with VV, Hartsi, Abney and Teubert in the lineup instead last year.

Quick...who would everyone rather have Kadri or BSchenn?
I know people are quick to point out that Kadri is already labelled a bust...but, thought I would ask.

Richard Cloutier: Wade Redden Fetish?
- Maxbone

I find it funny some of my fellow Canucks fans (including the Canuck's blogger) were ripping your webber blog considering all the trade for Webber talk and comments they've made for the past how many years right up to when he signed that crazy new contract

Agree Gomez no thank you (1 goal in 1 calander year I think even I could do that).

Wade Redden only if he was significantly better then someone else already on the roster and signed for league minimum
