I think Lavy is an excellent coach but the team is putting forth a half ass effort on a regular basis. That being said, the coach has to find a way to push their buttons. Often times a coaches job transcends X's and O's. between the shortcomings of the personnel and the lousy efforts. It's a recipe for disaster which in turn will force upper management's hand. |

One of the things I have been wondering is if Hartnell is really the heart of this team.
His personality, fairly consistent performance over the past few years, willingness to go to the dirty areas..everything he brings.. How much is the team missing that? |

Let me get this straight..they wouldnt move Cooter for a Weber but they would for Bowmeester?
Im really not opposed to trading Couturier either but it has to be a stud coming back that is young /. |

The team needs a big shot in the arm. Im not sure if changing the coach does it. Im not sure getting Hartnell back does it. Im not sure a trade does it. But if things continue like this there are going to be some big changes come the offseason.
Don't take this as me placing blame on one guy but if this continues I don't know how you can address these issues in the offseason without buying out some big contracts. I'm talking about Briere mainly. I know, Mr Playoffs. But what about the regular season numbers in comparison to cap hit? You need legit game in game out game changer for that money. Also, the fact we keep drafting Centers. We have Giroux Coots Schenn Laughton Read and Cousins whom all should be capable, making it that much harder to justify.
Im not all gung ho to buy out Briere but if things don't start to turn around for this team I think the hand starts to be forced. |

The season is slipping away ... if it hasn't already slipped.
They certainly can't go much longer without making some significant moves to change the makeup of this roster. |

Bill Meltzer: Meltzer's Musings: Talk is Cheap - bmeltzer
Bill,
When does someone come out and say that in order for the team as it is made up is not good enough. Even with Hartnell and Mez, the blue line is too thin, there is not enough consistent board work by the wings and frankly...there is too little desire to go into the dirty places.
It is just beyond frustrating...the more you look, the more glaring issues become and the harder to see a way out. |

I agree that this move might be forthcoming in the not to distant future. But the Flyers depth right now is pitiful. A line with Knuble, Briere, Fedotenko? Cmon.... |

I dont think that would have made any difference.
The Flyers do not have enough A level talent right now.
With Kimo as captain you still have that problem. |
