It will be Price by the way.

Yes the Isles can win this but they will have to outwork the Habs, which is a really though task.

I'd say 5-3 Mtl but i was wrong once.

The Islanders enjoyed a day off in Montreal yesterday.

Nice to see that Capuano thinks that they've earned a day off.

Poor Tavares.

I guess he wish he was playing with a great organization like Montreal.

right because the habs have been a model of consistency the past 20 years...i'm rather tired of the woe is Tavares crap not just from other fan bases but our own as well... Yzerman, Lemieux were on terrible teams for years and it worked out ok.

I'm really nervous tht JT is going to pull the "trade me card" this guy has so much talent and we surround him with garbage.... I bet he wants off this sinking ship

Snow's interview was horrid. He's arguing against some imaginary opponent countering points that no one is making. I don't think anyone, even the Wolfpack, is saying "Please, Snow, mortgage the future for a quick fix!"

I had to give myself a day before commenting on this one. I think some of what Snow said was typical coy GM bs. You always hear them saying "We're not looking to make a trade right now but if the right opportunity presents itself" so I didn't read too much into that comment. That said, comments like "This team can win, we've seen how they can play" come off as utterly ignorant when on the heels of losing 7 of your last 9 games and suffering the franchises worst home shutout in history.
It also comes off as a total insult to the intelligance of the Isles fans. Perhaps the fly-by-night fans will accept this and go back to watching their regularly scheduled programs but for those of us who actually know/played/lived/breathed hockey, this was little more than antagonism.
Trying to claim that your 'waiver moves' bolstered your depth, when one of those moves ended up playing top 4 defensive minutes, another is your everyday checking line center show that we didn't search out the talent to win or compete, we searched for bodies...nothing more.
I've defended Snow for quite some time now and still contend the guy could be a decent GM in the right situation, but he certainly can't expect to field a budget rental team and expect limousine service. Lipstick, pig...etc.

This team needs to send DP down. When you have him on the bench there is NO shot of them pulling Nabby in an off game. That can not be the case. You need Poulin on the bench... now!

Snow is right to an extent.. the team is fine. We are losing games by getting out goalied. Could we use an upgrade in our Top pairing Defense... yes... but this team is far better on back line then we have been in a while...IMO.

We're losing games by getting out-hockey'd. While I completely agree with your comment on sending DP down, and I think EVERYONE here does, we have bigger problems than goaltending. I posted yesterday saying that I thought Nabby has been average at best and DP...well, he's DP, but our defensive play is so awful at this stage that it's amazing how bad your goaltending can look when they receive no support in the greasy areas. If I'm prioritizing our fixes right now, it goes a somethin' like this....

1. Coaching-We haven't had a GOOD one since Lavi (sorry, but I didn't like Nolan). That's a decade ago. Our lack of defensive composure loses leads, gives up goals late in periods, fails to pressure other teams forwards.

2. Muscle- Outside of Martin and McDonald, we have NO muscle on this team. We need a player who can be physically imposing on the blueline and another who can create havoc in front of opponents net.

3. Bring up Poulin- Right now we have 1 1/2 goaltenders on the roster. It's tough to ride the hot hand when one of them is arthritic.

4. Leadership- He's here, he wears #91. Given you don't need a "C" to be a leader, but send the message to the team that this kid is who leads us to battle. Not a low key dman whose personality seems to reflect his nations lack of desire to get their hands dirty.

So basically, that's add a coach and two players, promote your goaltender. I'm not saying that converts us into a contender but I'm pretty damn sure it makes us a playoff team.

How about Desharnais for Okposo??

You need a center, we need a winger.

I dont know whats so funny about that. I know my team is not the most talented but we are first in the east. And that's because of the work mentality.

Now the habs had 1 game to forget and a couple of bad periods but thats it.

You shall see tonight.

i think think a Isles fan can make that kind of comment, by the way.

If you talk about Strome, whose i dont know what position is playing, i confess i forgot about him.

But other than that, dont tell me Nielsen is a good second line center.

no doubt, after 16-17 games, the habs are having a good season... id just think that a team thats been in the same boat as the islanders for YEARS would tread lightly when tooting his own horn.
