Dee, what's the big deal, they don't say anything new anyway. For the record, the reason the Knicks were on both stations is that some markets only get one MSG station and the Knicks and Rangers get the biggest ratings. However, according to IslandersPointBlank the Islanders ratings have risen 121%...

Wonderful....hopefully some of the old time posters will come back when she leaves!

Solid 2 pts last night. Need, NEED to beat Florida tomorrow, its a must if they are serious about trying to get into the playoffs. Weiss isnt playing for them and he usually manhandles the Isles. Gotta capitalize!

Great win last night and the Lightning looked lifeless. It was a great day in sports. Islanders won Rangers Lost again. Hey I am happy just moving up the ladder. Florida should be a piece of cake but those are the games taht concern me the most

Nice to get the win, but they really need to find another line that's going to be at least a threat to score. Once again...no Tavares, no goals, let alone a win. I'm just not sure what they see in that second line that they refuse to mix it up a bit. They never score. I guess they look OK in other areas of the game, but they're not an energy line. Gotta put the puck in the net once in a while. Not really sure what the answer should be since there aren't a lot of goal scorers on the team you can plug in. Grabner, for sure, when he's healthy should be there. Beyond that? I don't know. Call up Nino and see how he looks for two or three games? Give Martin a chance in a scoring role? Give the checking line second-line minutes and sub Grabner in for McD there? Or just leave it all as is and hope Frans, KO and Bailey figure it out, which seems a bit like wishful thinking.

Beyond that, the D and Nabby looked a heck of a lot better than they did in Pitt!

Depth and secondary scoring is a glaring issue for this team. Baily/Okposo/Neilsen, these guys need to start scoring some fackin goals. Relying on JT's line for all of the offense is a ticket to nowhere. No team can be successful with only one solid line. Even if we were to somehow make it into the playoffs, one line of offense wont get the job done no matter who they play. We are just not a deep team. Cold hard reality.

I did see Torts interview last night and i see he has a henchman now to say "NEXT QUESTION" when Torts gets all flustered.

Florida is a HUGE game that we must win since next week is all against pretty strong opponents.

Frankly this team is dead in the water if they make the playoffs. We simply don't play the type of game necessary to win playoff hockey. In addition, and as mentioned previously, without a legitimate secondary scoring threat, other teams can simply play lockdown hockey on JT & Friends, thus turning us into a neutral zone team.
Since it appears Bridgeport's season is actually in worse shape than the Isles, it probably wouldn't hurt to consider bringing up someone like Nino or Kabanov just to see what they can do to help. Neither are going to gain useful playoff experience in the A this season.

You really could see a jump in Nielsen's stride last night. He was flying out there.

Was I the only one scared out of my skin knowing Franz took a Penalty.. so he wouldn't be out there to kill it & Gremlin wasn't playing? I thought for sure tampa had a PP goal.

I don't think we can know that for sure until they actually see some game action at this point. Both have the skill level to compete. I don't think there'd be any harm in giving them a 2-3 game stretch up with the team to see just how their assignment has helped them grow. In addition, it's helpful to them to see what areas need to be improved on to ramp up for the NHL game.
Getting playing time with an AHL team that will be coasting to the finish probably won't help a lot.
