Overall, the Rangers and controversial head coach John Tortorella have more or less owned Peter Laviolette's Flyers in recent seasons. Over the last 11 games between the teams, the Flyers have a 1-9-1 record against the Blueshirts.
That somebody can read that, and still defend the coaching of Laviolette, is beyond me. When combined with the record against the Devils, it's staggering to me that the Flyers still employ him as coach. |

Tortorella and DeBoer use this strange reality bending type hallucinogenic that causes the Flyers to play poorly as a whole against those team. Common knowledge. |

THERE'S NO LINES, jak!!!
I over sell it, but they need to get two points tonight. I have little faith that they can or will. |

And Guy Boucher? Same drugs?
It really wasn;t my intent to turn it into a fire Laviolette thread. They just need to win so badly, I fear we see another tight game where they get overaggressive again and end up blowing the game because of it |

Probably something to do with his 135-89-28 Philly record. |

My frustration is with myself. See I'm a pretty logical guy... so when I try something and it doesnt work.. I give it a second chance. Third time around I think, Hmm.. maybe its something IM doing... i pay attention to it and if it doesnt work a third time... I change it up.
Lava doesnt seem to think that way. |

Guy Boucher's scar has mystical properties, legend has it.
But I agree with you. However, I would rather have the team lose and get a better draft pick (and I'm sure I'll get berated by some for that) because I think that's what would be best for the team going forward. |

He's either stubborn as a rock or a moron. I'm leaning toward the former. |

Wow that defense is putrid, I can't believe we don't have 1 damn viable defenseman to call up. I don't think Gus is the answer either. He is still better than Foster though. |

Super. He can't beat NJ, NYR or Boston, but by all means let's keep him because he owns the Isles and Carolina and used to own the Pens, Caps and Maple Leafs. |

The way the defense is being utilized is the bigger issue. On paper, it's not so bad. Coburn & Meszaros need to play better as well. |

After the rangers top 3, their defense doesn't look so hot either. If you have to play Eminger significant minutes, you're in trouble. The Flyers hould be able to get on that defense. |

Hopefully the approach they used against Pittsburgh is the same they employ tonight with a bit more discipline in their game. |

A loss tonight should put an end to this miserable season and the Flyers can start selling off pieces..... Oh wait, with Briere hurt there are no real pieces to sell. Good times. |

About a month ago I predicted Briere would get hurt right at the end of the season so we couldn't buy him out. I was close...
All I can say about tonight's game is I MISS GROSSMANN. Conssistently one of our best D I want him back in the line-up so I can root for someone on this team besides Rinaldo...
I don't have a ton of hope for tonight. It would be nice to see Coots, McGinn, or Read pot a few. I can dream! |

I can't believe Tampa Bay still has better odds than the Flyers of making the playoffs.
