Datsyuk and probably Hiller should of been the 1st star of the game. I know Brunner scored to win it but Datsyuk made things happen in the 3rd and Hiller was great in OT

Nice to see the Wings come back and win it. Nyquist has really looked good and makes things happen. I hope this goal give Smith some much needed confidence. I wish Tatar was up.
I also hope they don't come out and crap the bed next game.
Samuelsson looked like poop, Bertuzzi was ok. Need more speed. Wish we had Helm. - wingz4life
agreed. Bert's line played well though... Bert and Eaves seem to have some chemistry. At least Samuelsson shoots, but that is about all he does really.

And 9 times out of ten the puck doesn't even hit the net and goes out or all the way back down the ice...
As for the Abdelkader suspension it's just the way the NHL is now. People debating whether or not he left his feet or what the point of contact is are wasting time.
The rules are barely even guidelines, it's primarily based on if someone gets hurt or not. If Lydman popped right back up and played the rest of the game there would be no suspension for that exact same hit.
This is why you can run around targeting guys in the head all you want (see the Canadians against the Sens on Saturday) and not get a hearing but if you make a clean hit and the guy gets hurt you get a call.
The whole thing is stupid, by not being consistent about what is and isn't legal and punishing results and not plays the NHL is contributing to more concussions than ever before. Pretty much par for the course though when it comes to the NHL.

He somehow seems to give the puck away 90% of the time that he has it/plays it. I was talking Pav thru the TV telling him not to give him the puck lol
Was I the only one who held their breath on the PK early in OT? Seriously, it's normally calls like that (Andersson being called for high sticking when it was the Duck players own stick that hit him in the face) that end up coming back to bite the Wings.

I thought Smith had a really good game last night, and not even because he scored. He was making some really nice moves out of the zone and made a couple really solid plays on D (as I believe he was the one who blocked Selanne on the wrap around attempt).

Well.. here's some not-so-encouraging news: Babcock will have Samuelsson on the top line to take Abdelkader's place (source: ESPN). Bertuzzi will also be back in place. Add to that we still have Cleary (PUKE !) on the second line. I don't mind seeing Bert back in the lineup... we can use his size and toughness. But having guys like Samuelsson and Cleary getting top minutes while Tatar is in Grand Rapids is total insanity. Still makes me question if Babcock has lost his mind. I still am still skeptical the Wings have enough offensive depth to win this series... Seems like the goals are few and far between. They had better find a way to score first in the next couple of games... if they fall behind again in Anaheim I doubt they can win.

I have no problem with Samuelsson playing to generate scoring, he still has a good shot and shoots from everywhere, he is also playing point on the second PP unit. Cleary is standing in front of the net causing problems, I have no problem there either.
