Q had better have them screaming out of the gates tonight. We are likely to see the Wings' best game/effort to date tonight.
If they play like entitled brats again, they are done. |

I will once again say that I would like to see Ben Smith please. Also I would like to see Sharp at second line center for a few shifts and also can we please over load the top line with Kane / Toews / Hossa a few times to try to get a spark. |

This will probably go over like a turd in a punchbowl but 11 points for Toews in his last 20 playoff games just isn't good enough no matter how you slice it. I know he has been noticeable but playing hard and being noticeable just isn't good enough for Jonathan Toews. That's what is expected out of Frolik. Toews has to get on the scoresheet. There is a higher threshold of success for him. I know he is being ragged on and shadowed and some of it should maybe have drawn penalties but isn't that the crap that all of the Bolland lovers get off on when he does it to the Sedins and Jumbo Joe? I know its a faux pas for someone outside of Pittsburgh to think Crosby is anything but a cry-baby, but good God that guy produces and gets on the board no matter how many guys the other team throws at him. Its been a sentiment on here for people to say they'd rather have Toews on their team than Crosby, well its time for Toews to lift this team up. I love Toews' game and wouldn't trade him for mostly anything, but the excuses for him puzzle me. Sure Zetterberg was hounding him like a dog...last time I checked Toews was a Selke Award finalist himself. Zetterberg didn't have a problem producing offense on him. Time for #19 to step up, ramp up his game to the playoff hockey level so bandied about here. |

That's how they have been playing since they won the cup. This season was surprising when they decided to play like they have not won a cup in half a century.
I want to see more heart from the Hawks tonight. We have yet to see a full 60 minutes of it since these playoffs started. |

Crawford has typically played well in the game following a poor performance. As long as the game doesn't go into overtime I think the hawks can expect a good game from him tonight. |

It is more about the eighteen guys that play in front of him having a good game. How they go is how he will go. |

Crawford made a couple of very good saves in game 2, but gave up two goals that were saveable, especially Valteri Filippula's third period back breaker.
Maybe.....but they still lose 2-1. How about holding "Captain Serious" to the same standard? For a guy with his talent, 3 points in 7 games so far isnt getting it done. |

Concur with what's been stated.
Toews no goals yet in the playoffs and Crosby had a hat trick the other night. Wonder if Toews is playing hurt?
Would also like to see Ben Smith in there...but since we still have no center depth (thanks to our GM) they're going to put Zeus in there for draws.
I think this one is a must win. Have to get momentum back after a dreadful performance on Saturday afternoon. Take nothing away from the Wings they're a very good team with a great coach.
It's been said before, but we still haven't seen a full 60 minutes from the Hawks yet in the playoffs. Hopefully that team shows up tonight. |

Can't quote for some reason, but to say Zetterberg had no problem producing against Toews is just incorrect. Toews' line dominated possession and didn't let up any goals. That being said, Toews needs to be a PPG player in the playoffs for the Hawks to win the cup. His and Saad's on ice shooting percentage is 2, which is unsustainably low, and will regress to about 10. The thing is that regression has to start soon or there might not be enough games left |

Apples to oranges. Crosby vs. Zetterberg in the two cup finals they played, 3 goals 3 assists in 13 games. More relevant comparison |

We were discussing Smith on the last thread and some asked why Smith.
Well for one he's not Dan Carcillo. I'm not saying put Smith on the top line or anything like that but he might be able to give the Hawks more than the 3-6 minutes that Carcillo plays. This might not seem like a big deal but the series may come down to the Hawks third and fourth line outplaying Detroits third and fourth line assuming the top lines of each team neutralize each other. Smith is not a defensive liability like Carcillo. Zus isn't that good of a skater and I think other than faceoffs the Hawks don't lose much with Krugman at center vs Zus. |

In the regular season games against the Oilers and Flames he was hit hard twice, one was a huge hit from Mark Fistric that snapped Toews' head back and he slowly made his way to the bench. The second was a hard hit by Dennis Wideman that also rattled him. Could Toews be playing with a concussion? |

Or game 1 vs Minny when he had head his rammed into the ice. Minnesota took a lot of liberties against him that 1st series. Detroit is taking a piece of him every chance they get.
Besides that, he has to produce. He and Kane have 1 goal in 7 games combined....That's pathetic. They have to score. You can't expect Sharp or Hossa to score every night....
I expect to see a big night from the captain...and...leddy/seabrook have to be better (-4, and -2). |

Morin really enjoys skating with his head down. It would be 2 or 3 shifts before Kronwall would destroy him.

He wouldn't be playing with a concussion, they just wouldn't do it. Sure he could be dinged up, but he's had tons of chances, just needs to score. I don't really subscribe to him being hurt. If you're hurt you don't play, if you play you're not hurt |
