I'm hoping the Flyers draft Everett's goalie, Austin Lotz, who was able to prevent the "guaranteed sweep" of Everett by Portland by stealing two games away from home. |

I'd love to see them trade down some in the 1st, and pick up another 2nd rounder. |

Agreed!
I would hate to see the Flyers move a top pick or young players like Couturier or Schenn to go out and get an Edler or Yandle. If that's the best they can do, I would rather keep all of our young talent and picks and just sign a stop gap Dman like Mark Streit.
Now if they can put a deal together for Weber or Pietrangelo, then I'm open to dealing anyone other than Giroux. |

Not a bad idea, if LA makes the finals, and there is someone Columbus wants real bad that is still available at 11, I would offer them that pick and our 3rd rounder for the 14th pick and LA's pick which would be #29 or #30. I'd even swap out our 3rd for our 2nd if needed. I would rather have picks 14 and 29/30 than picks 11 & 41.

I agree. I don't want a trade down either. We have been acquiring depth lately. Let's get us the best chance to draft an impact player. |

I would trade down a bit, if I can acquire another late 1st or early 2nd. I think they have almost as good a chance at landing an impact player with picks 14-18 as they do at 11.
Remember you can never have enough prospects, especially if at some point they do make a trade for a #1 defenseman. |

Hard to see the flyers do something like that. I think their going to like who is available at pick 11 and take him. Of they like him and think he could be available at 18. I don't think they risk it. |

I think you have almost as good of a shot at getting an impact player at #20 as you do at #11 this year. It's close enough (depending on the Flyers board) that I would trade down if I found a trade partner. |

Bill great stuff as usual, after reading the Power Forwards and Undersized forwards what are your thoughts, if any on Justin Bailey [6’4, 185#, R, C/RW], Jimmy Lodge [6’1, 165#, R, RW] or Gabryel Paquin-Boudreau [5’11, 160#, L, LW] in terms of second rounders? |

Drouin (5'10.75" 185 lbs.) is bigger than Mackinnon (6'0" 182 lbs.) and still has room to grow. If you're going to call Drouin undersized, you might as well call Mackinnon undersized as well. |

Bill what does this signing of Raffl mean for Gagne? I mean I would be surprised if they'd let him go again after acquiring him... Plus everyone loves him. |

Well Raffl is a two way contract if I'm not mistaken. Sounds like they are planning to have him to at least start in the AHL for a bit. |

I'd bet that Columbus is more likely targeting a top-3 pick, using their three 1sts as part of a package deal. |

I personally would not hesitate a second to trade B Schenn for Edler or Yandle. Although I prefer Edler. |

I doubt Raffl would have anything to do with the decisions for the NHL roster. |

Similar sort of junior player to Marc-Andre Bourdon: big frame, physical style, questionable skating. He doesn't have the equal of Bourdon's cannon of a shot but the overall game at QMJHL level was similar.

I've read remarks where folks have quoted Dave Brown (who scouted Raffl) as saying Raffl would need a season in the AHL.
So, I'm guessing Raffl would have to just kill it in training camp to make the opening night roster. |

Most every scouting report on Drouin notes him as being a bit undersized (ala Patrick Kane in 2007) whereas MacKinnon is expected to play at an "average" size as he continues to fill out.
