I know hindsight is always 20/20, but I was never in favor of Hovinen over Eriksson. I'm not sure either are the answer to a Cup, but I just believe a lot more in Eriksson. |

It stems from Chiarelli. He had a plan, got guys to fit that plan and he's a brilliant GM, besides. - Jsaquella
Yeah, it really does. Very detail oriented, he's patient, probably the best contract negotiator in the league. He's also not afraid to embrace analytics to give his team a further edge... it's no wonder why they keep uncovering so many useful players from the NHL bargain bin... Peverley, Kelly, Paille, Boychuk, McQuaid, Krug, etc. |

Great quick hits, Bill. If they get drafted, do you expect the two defensemen you mentioned to go around where they went previously, even later, or slightly earlier which would be a surprise? |

Does this statement from Bill's blog remind you of another team?
" Pittsburgh's overreliance on stretch passes and aggressive puck pursuit has been turned against them, creating transitional chances galore." |

I wonder how Jarome Iginla feels about blocking that trade to Boston about now. |

I think Yuen could go as early as round three. With Kichton, there are more question marks about his ability to translate his junior game to the pros and he's nearly a year older than Yuen, so I think he'll go later. |

i just hope that Lava and co. can see this as well. Otherwise we are in for more of the same next year.
I wonder if Bylsma gets bounced if they dont make this series competitive? |

It will be interesting because Bylsma has shown, in the past, that he can adjust. He has gone without Crosby and Malkin (and others) for extended periods of time in the past and the team seemed to adjust their style and continue to win. |

I've seen the Pens play solid defense under Bylsma in the past. They just seem to lose thier focus at times. There has to be a comittment. |

Pitts also allows themselves to be too easily thrown off their game by physical play. Boston is doing this to perfection.

If the Pens are getting blown out in game 3 they'll probably start taking runs at the Bruins skill players. |

They've been doing that since game 1. Boston just runs them back. |

When Pittsburgh tries to muscle up, it's almost always to their detriment.
I don't know what it is about that team when they try to play that way. |
