Drafting a goaltender makes no sense. Whoever they draft wont be NHL-ready for years and basically throws away the time spent drafting and developing Poulin and Nilsson. It doesn't solve the gosltending issue for next season. Theyll either trade the pick or draft the best player available. |

She is completely out of touch and if Snow did draft a goalie he'd be completely out of touch himself. Why did I read this? |

I could see snow dropping a few spots, recouping the 2nd rounder we traded and taking fucale. I know he is 2-3 years away but maybe snow intends to sign a stop gap like emery or bryz (yuck) for that time period. Its not rediculas to think. I wouldn't be totally against it. Snow also has had alot of sucess in the later rounds and this is a deep draft. |

Being an Isles fan for so many years you must be a glutton for punishment...as for me, I've been a pirates fan since my dad took me to watch johnny ray play second base in the 80s. Hence, also a glutton for punishment. Therefore, I look forward to Dee's articles to help keep me grounded. |

The goalie in the first round is a stretch. Also, you stand just as good of a chance developing a goalie from the later rounds as getting the quality you hope to pull from the early rounds.
Hartman...isn't that a stretch? |

Thought Sather's comments about players essentially not being machines and they sometimes need a new coach because they lose motivation and need a new outlook.
Agree that Snow could draft that goalie but unless he is ready to step in soon, don't think he would be an immediate asset. Remember 79 draft when they took Duane Sutter who stepped in that season and helped them. Alot like Czikas did this season, though CC is a bit older.
That being said Isles were a playoff team this year but if they can make it in next year are they better than a one round team? Maybe getting more vets would help but would that make them a cup contender? Good to keep building with youth but like Lundqvist will Tavares get a similar attitude about carrying the team? Ownership has to walk a fine line about building with youth but keeping the young vets happy.

I try to refrain from making negative comments on your blogs but enough is enough. How do you have press credentials for an NHL team? Your blogs read like some kid writes them. Your knowledge of the Islanders and the team in general is minimal and it shows in your consistent terrible articles |

You're team could def. use some veteran players. However, I think you have to tread lightly. The vets need to fit the system and not detract from your strengths...as my beloved pens found out this year. Any veteran stepping in has to play a fast, grinding game. By fast, it doesn't all have to be foot speed. Some can come from just quick decision making. |

I'm convinced she either writes these blogs and thinks they're work of arts and never reads the comments...or she reads the comments and keeps putting up a new blog everyday to fack with us |

Agree. This is a very grinding league and CHI-BOS series proved it. In the end just about all of the stars had injuries. Most of the kids in juniors can play at the NHL level but a potential star also needs to be gifted with a strong body and strong will to play at the pro level.

It's been a tough road but there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel for us here as fans. Our blogger on the other hand.... |

I think it's the latter. You can't possibly write a blog, almost every day, for 3 years, and not even get a little better at it, can you? Or, gain even a modicum of knowledge about the subject you're supposedly blogging about, right? |

The price for dropping back a few spots probably wouldn't cost the other team a 2nd, more like a 3rd. |

I waited until the last minute to actually look at the draft prospects

Great job! No need to write about the upcoming draft/possible trade scenarios, buyouts, etc etc....Not when you can promote the draft party! Most important offseason this team has had in a decade and you didn't even research who the Isles may be interested in?
So will your 'Live from the Draft' blog consist of which night Modells is having a Sparky the Dragon meet and greet?
