Tim Brent is an absolute beauty, he'd look good on any team's 4th line and would really help Van if signed. |

Gillis could also pull a Snow and leave the roster open until after camp when teams start flooding the waiver wire with the players that didn't quite make it and fill out the team from there. Thomas Hickey actually turned into a really good pick up last year, Keith Aucoin was a marginal fill in, Joe Finley was a really big traffic cone but Brian Strait was one we stole from Pittsburgh who I think will be a solid 4-5 defenseman for the Isles this year and played fairly well last year until his injury.
Bargin bin shopping at Zellers. Every once in a while you score something for half off that's worth it

My bunioins are throbbing, I don't have a good feeling about this UFA . Why do I have a feeling we will sign Derek Roy to 7 year deal 6 mil per with NMC |

I think we will do very little tomorrow. Maybe pick up a few fourth line plugs.
Like it or not, I think the lines will look something like:
D. Sedin- H-Sedin- Kassian
Booth- Kesler- Burrows
Higgins- Schroeder- Hansen
Sestito- FA- FA
Weise
Hamhuis- Bieksa
Edler- Tanev
Garrison- Corrado
FA

this is what's absolutely shocking. The lack of depth compared to the 2011 team is night and day. The key players are still there, but the depth around them has almost completely disappeared. |

Not really. Our third and fourth lines for game 1 of the stanley cup final were:
Raffi Torres- Max Lapierre- Jannick Hansen
Jeff Tambellini- Alex Bolduc- Victor Oreskovich
I wouldn't say we're that hard up now... |

Lapierre needs to go. He's an embarrasment to hockey. Buy his a** out and bring in Brent. |

that fourth line looks like an expansion team line! Poor Jeff, so good in the shootout, so afraid of going into the corners.

I have my doubts that the Canucks do anything tomorrow. I would guess Gillis will be patient, pick up a few two way contract players. There are only 8 forwards and 5 defenders plus two goalies signed for the AHL next season, and that assumes none of them make the Canucks. Likely one of the goalies possibly Jensen. Gaunce goes back to Junior or NHL, so scratch one more from the AHL team. |

To play on the fourth line? What's the point in that? They both are solid candidates for the WJC team next year, and both play on VERY good teams in the OHL (both will compete for the championship next year). I'd rather them get another year of juniors, but maybe that's just me. |

Two or three years ago I thought Mike Gillis was brilliant. I now have very grave concerns. I'm trying to see the silver-lining through this cluster-f*ck of the past 2 years but am beginning to dread that we are entering another very dark chapter in the Canuck's history. I believe the Cup window has firmly shut.
I'm not quite sure why so many folks here have such a boner for Schroeder? |

I'd like to see the Canucks take a run at Matt Hendricks and Chad LaRose. |
