Todd Cordell: 76ers Ownership Group Interested In Purchasing The New Jersey Devils

Woooo I posted this yesterday but had no idea who the guy who wrote it was so didnt know if it was some made up crap !

Don't know how I feel about this. I guess someone has to buy the Devils, financially. Personally, I don't like how we might be owned by the same person who owns a Philly team.

They where saying if it happens sixers fans wont be happy because when Snyder owned them they took a back seat to the Flyers and now Harris came in and was supposed to change that and now he is looking at buying a hockey team. I think it would of been awesome had Truimph bought the team during our play off run cause he was at the games and said he was looking at buying a team

I have similar thoughts. I get if you have a ton of money and you want to own different franchises in different sports located in different towns. Sometimes because you're just that big of a sports fan, sometimes because you just have the money (like Josh Harris). But I am not a fan of owning a team in one town and then purchasing a rival in a different sport of the city you already own the team in. We're not talking about owning the 76ers and buying the Coyotes here.

Could you imagine the Celtics owner buying the Rangers?

Well, checking online, I see that Mr. Harris is worth quite the nice sum of $2.1 billion. However, I do see the concerns of both Devils fans, and Philadelphia sports fans haha. Being a Flyers fan, I hope he sabotages the Devils Just kidding haha, but I don't see this being too much of an issue so long as he is serious about doing what's best for the team. Luckily, the NBA and NHL aren't rivals for air-time or market-share, so the daily operations of the Sixers and Devils under Harris shouldn't be an issue.

If anything, Devils fans, you should maybe embrace this potential sale, as it could give your team some much needed economic stability.

Deep pockets look like they'll be a necessity with inflated contracts on the rise.
If they're willing to spend to better the team then i'm all for it.

I'm not worried about it

I dont want Philly to be involved with the Devils in anyway other than playing against them

Funny that would be news to the nhl

if that was the case why hasnt there been any movement towards that and why is it that finding new ownership isnt so urgent?

Recently again the nhl said the devils financials are stable and they are not worried
