If I had to describe it, it's like charting everything that's happening in your visual field onto constantly fluctuating, internalized Cartesian plane. Then you link up every event that happens on that plane to a reactive movement on your part and practice those responses over and over again until you don't think about them and everything basic becomes muscle memory and reflex. Then when you play you're "in the zone," you're really only actively thinking about or responding to unique occurrences, and you don't get the yips like MAF going back to the post in a playoff game...
