Stastny had an awful game. Brigas was a little rusty too. But RoR won that game by himself.

Haha, their nickname for O'Reilly is priceless.

I really liked the Barrie Benoit pairing, they seemed to play really well together and generated some offensive, pretty good transitional game.

Elliott seems like a lost boy out there, Bigras is impressing, he didnt have a flashy game but he was just solid out there.

Any word on why Siemens hasn't been in a game yet? Thought maybe Elliott would turn it around if they got paired together again.

I just hope they don't rush Bigras. Another year of junior is the best for him IMO.

Great to have you taking up blog here Rick. I'm bummed the Rocky Mountain News went under but im glad you're still on the Avs beat. Wasn't sure if random Garth posts was all there would be this season

Just watched the OT winner on the Avs' website. Pretty great stuff there!

I can't wait to get the season going! My ability to focus at work will suffer quite a bit...dang central time zone...

I thought they both played well individually, I don't really like them as a pair though. Probably Barrie Hejda and Benoit and Sarich

Siemens had a decent camp but didn't really surprise anyone, and I think the avs brass wanted to see more of Bigras.

There are still a few pre season games left though.

Ya I would rather see him in there over a guy like Guenin.

Siemens just got sent to Lake Erie. Somewhat concerning, obviously he's nowhere near where they expected him to be at this point.
