I was recording this game while at work, but @ 6-1 Islanders I'll just hit erase when I get home. I know its only 3 games in, but this team is looking old and slow. Why we let Gordon go is beyond me, especially when they wound up paying Ribeiro 2.5 million/yr more.

Should get a decent draft pick next June.

I know I'll differ from Frenchie here, but I think the Yotes just have to continue to compete. The problem is, Tippett's system. It doesn't allow for a lot of creativity on offense. That's why a lethal PP is a must with this team.

Its only 3 games in, but it looks like the problems start at the faceoff. The Yotes have been terrible at this on the road so far. And they are giving up way to many SOG. That is rectified by outskating and outhitting your opponent.

Always thought he was an underrated player(like a lot of Yotes), but he's a perfect 3rd liner and not a top 6 winger.

Well without overreacting over two bad games I would say they have no need to really rebuild as it were. With Morris and Klesla out this is probably the youngest defense in the game, OEL 22, Stone 23, Rundblad 23, Yandle 27, Michalek 30 plus Schlemko is only 27 or something...not that he really matters with Gormley (21) and Murphy (20) on the way.

What they need is a talisman kind of player at forward. Not even a Tavares/OV/Crosby sort of guy, even a Kessel/Hall/Couture kind of guy would be perfect. Ribeiro was the hope to be that sort of guy, but so far he's been meh at best.

Defense and goaltending is set, just need that real player at forward.

Gonna be in PHX next saturday. The Yotes play the Wings... will I still be able to walk up and buy tickets before the game? (serious question)
