I wonder who would have thought that Boyd Gordon would lead the oil in points and goals.

You just had to bring the Flyers into it didn't you?

Thanks.

Both PP's are good too. We're 5/14 and they are 5/23.

The Pens need to draw some more penalties. Less than 3 PP's a game thus far and at least 2 i can remember were less than 10 seconds long.

I predict a total of 14 tonight. It's a gut feeling.

Although it could be gas.

So I went to play NHL14 yesterday in Be a GM mode. Except when the season started I was missing Dupuis, Adams, Kobasew and only had a million in free cap space. The team had no additional players.

I mean WTF?

Did anyone else experience this?

I just shut the game off. If I can't have Dupuis I don't wanna play.

My gut feeling is this is going to be a beating. The bad news is that's how I felt before Florida.

Roster updates are weird sometimes. That's why I take the most recent update save the roster "my edited rosters" and make all the trades etc myself. One thing to note is that the roster updates now include extensions.

Example: Kessel is signed for 9 years at 7.8M per year.

Just edit salaries or player movement to make the game correct. I'm very picky this way because I demand be a gm mode be realistic (until I really want a certain player and pay out the butt for him) lol.

Oh man that seems like alot of work. Dupuis is a free agent. I tried trading all my dead weight for 7th round picks but Dupuis turned my 1.3 million dollar offer down. The real Dupuis would never do something like that.

Trade Niskanen. Has anyone ever suggested that before?

When the Pens had their picks there was a goalie worth taking 1st overall named Fleury. That hasn't been the case with the Oilers.

Also, the Jordan Staal VS Yakupov comparison isn't a very good one because the Oil were picking 1st and the Pens were picking 3rd.

Last, the Pens still sucked for awhile after drafting Crosby, Malkin, Fleury and Staal. The results in the early years with the kids were the same.

The Penguins traded up for Fleury. Whether they actually had to was another story. The Oilers have yet to make a draft move that positively impacts their team. All they've done is select whoever ISS rated the highest at their pick.

Sometimes I like to imagine we drafted toews instead of staal.

There is no way we could have fit Crosby, Malkin and Toews under the cap and still have been able to ice a competitive team.

We wouldn't have resigned Malkin/Crosby/Fleury and/or Letang. So in other words we would have had to trad someone away similar to what we had to do with Staal or just let them walk after rookie contract.

The best news early in the season for me is that by my count Fleury has allowed 0 "soft goals".

Or we could have let them all play under their entry contracts sign crosby malkin fleury letang and trade toews.

It worked out just fine for both the Blackhawks and Penguins
