You hope.

Leafs fans saw lots of talent in Pogge, and Antropv, Stajan, Steen, Coliacovo, Schenn etc. All first rounders except Pogge

Heck, Myers was awesome in his first 2 years in NHL now he has regressed. What is Gregerinko (sp) Just saying a guy is not proven till he's done it for 2 or 3 years, which is why Leafs didn't give Kadri long term deal

Nobody knows

I see Hodgson is developing nicely as is Ennis . Both still only 23.

great promise in all these players
Girgensons
Armia
Ristolenon
Pysyk
Zadarov
Myers seems to have rebounded nicely
I think Grigorenko will come around , Still too young for the big time but too talented for CHL and can't go to AHL to round his game out

If our weak GM can find decent trading partners for Miller and Vanek . We should be in great shape . Will not be upset if Regier eventually is shown the door. Toronto fans take far too much joy out of Buffalo being in a down swing . Worry about your Leafs . We are smart enough to worry about our Sabres ,without you coming around and feeling you have to put our teams and city down to make you feel better about yourself.

Wait for the Sabres to kill the Leafs in a a few years, then we will hardly hear from them.

We'll probably still have a more stacked team than you then, plus MUCH more experience. Best of luck

I saw a lot of Buffalo fans on here at the draft somewhat disappointed at their selections. If I'm a Sabres fans, I'm excited about all the stud defensive prospects. As a Habs fan I'm jealous they got Zadorov and Ristolainen

They've began to grow on me, but IMO there's no reason to pick TWO D men in the 1st round in a draft that was as offensively stacked as it was...

TSN has their THIRD article regarding the Kaleta issue up now with his pic and appeal the primary article now. WTF? Kaleta misses a check and makes contact somewhere above the shoulders and is a TSN "star?" No wonder why the Leafs' fans think Kaleta is worse than Satan.

I live in YOUR city. and have my whole life!
I wasn't putting your team down. I was just saying that all of these guys that you say have talent are not going to be 1st or 2nd line NHLers maybe half will if you are lucky.

Most sports fans in Buffalo are so defensive of their city that they cant even have a decent conversation. Its my biggest problem with the city.
Someone says something about snow, we hate them.
Someone says its cold we hate them too.
Lupul says something about a bad view and we dont like him.
We dont have the best city in the world. I live here its not that bad either.

Those 1st 5 guys you listed have less than 10 games in the NHL. They are a big ?
Myers was -7 a few days ago 2nd worst in NHL.Thats not a rebound! If Darcy was such a great GM that drafted all this talent the Sabres would not be as bad as they are now. And you are probably going to lose the most important piece, a good goalie.

Nothing would make me happier than the Leafs and Sabres being good a having some meaningful games. Even though the Sabres won the 99 conf. final it was fun.
From 01 -04 Leafs were good and Sabres bad. After that Sabres good Leafs bad.
Now it seems to going back to Leafs good and Sabres bad. I don't think that the Leafs are elite or even a lock for the playoffs but the Sabres could be draffting 1 or 2 overall.

What we are talking about is organizational strength . We have scratched the surface here . Have you actually watched any games ? Myers game is improved greatly .
I am in fact Canadian . My company moved me here in 1989 . I lived in Toronto for years and will take Buffalo thanks. And what I have seen in our prospects makes me excited . If you don't see it , that is your opinion. What is the overall record between the Sabres and Leafs ? Just wondering . Why is Leaf fans feel they have to come in here and dump all over our team and our City .
I have travelled the world extensively with my work and I choose Buffalo. I took it on the chin for years from everyone in the Music Industry . Why do you live in Buffalo ? Anytime they have a day off here and I show them a different side of the city . They leave with a different opinion.
I am glad you are happy about your Leafs . I see a lot of potential with the Sabres . Why do you feel you have to come here and tell us we don't know what we are talking about . And by the way we are happy to suck this year and get a top 5 pick that we have not had since we drafted Vanek.

You dont read. I live here and the city is OK. I would not want to live in Toronto either. Too many people.

My original comment was not that you guys suck. It was dont get to high on your draft picks its gonna take a while. I have heard for years about the Sabres great drafting. Vanek, Miller and ?????? thats it .

Myers is -7 and the goalies are playing great. He is not the next "Chara" which I heard his 1st 2 years in the league!

Once again another person that lives in Buffalo being WAY TOO DEFIENSIVE about their city.
Thatis the worst part about living here.
It's OK for your fans to call me an effing drunkin canadian when I am at the game with my 8 year old (Which I was neither) and a guy this year teaching his 6 year old to say "Blow Leafs Blow' but dont say my city isn't the greatest city in the world.

Please don't tell me about Leaf fans and FN Center. They are usually drunk and rude. Its like a kegger for them

I have been to about 100 games at ACC and saw maybe 1 fight in the crowd.

Your building will be empty by next season. Cause you fans are fairweather.
I know, my ex's work had seasons there in 97 and 98. We were in the 200's and most nights me and my sons were the only 2 in the section. Not the row, the entire section.

But I forgot about Pegullaville. How that workin out for YA?

Gotta go, All in fun!

I agree with you to a point, but at some point in one's life a light goes off and maybe it did for Cooke...he may realize it's a honor to play in the NHL and not a given. I guess it's called maturity.

Kaleta needs this to happen to him or face the rest of his life regretting that he was a cement head. Cooke is on his 4th NHL team, maybe it takes Buffalo getting rid of him to wake him up.

What exactly is your issue . You resent living in Buffalo yet being a leafs Fan . I do not chant Blow leafs Blow . And neither do the Sabres fans I hang out with. You think we do not realize our prospects are young are going to take time to develop . You underestimate the educated Sabre fans that frequent these boards . Most that come here have a great knowledge of the game . I have watched all the games this year and I am very pleased with the turnaround in Myer's game . As far as Being the next Chara or even Pronger . Take a look at how long they took to develop their games . He is still way ahead of the Bell curve set by those two in their careers

As far as Terry Pegula I could not be happier . What he is doing for Downtown Buffalo is great . He is breathing life back into this city . Maybe he came into this as a bigger fan than he should have been . But he is an intelligent man who will turn this thing around . His passion is going to be replaced with know how as he proceeds down his trip as an NHL owner. Maybe he was to passionate with his original statements and projections of the teams short term success . But I would rather have that than a conglomerate owning the team and only caring about the bottom line.

If you do not like that we are passionate about our team and have great hopes for them . Just hang out some where else.

Kaleta is on the PK and he will sacrifice his body to block a shot, he has scored 10 goals in a season but he insists on being a cement head, it's that plain and simple. He has been cited 3 times for headbutting, who does that crap. I'm a Sabres fan but as I said earlier I think he needs to go elsewhere

If he's useless, so are your boys Campbell and Thornton. I hate his antics, but he is a VERY useful player when he doesn't have his head up his ass.

The Sabres haven't missed a beat since Kaleta's left the lineup. They're no worse off without him. One stint where he played a little out of character four (count 'em four) years ago does not change this.

I was happy with it. Get your big d men now, and get your stud forwards in the top 3 for a 2-3 years. Look at colorado, our pool is deeper right now then theirs was, but they drafted Duchane (3rd), Landeskog (2nd), and MacKinnon (first).

To add on Grigorenko, I think Roloston is the problem. Hes gotta let him play pp, and let him play with his line. Every game in the 3rd hes benched for friggen Porter, who is the equivalent of Lindy's Hecht. Its not like were winning the cup this year, let the kids play.

Just one example, this isn't the be-all, end-all reason I think he's a useful player. His PK work and intensity (often over the top) make him a useful player, just not incredibly useful.

2015 is the year to get the no.1 pick.

There are no blue chip can't miss forwards in 2014. What Buffalo needs.
