Matt Henderson: David Perron, Shift-Disturber David Perron is 9 games into his Oiler career and stands out already as playing a style of game that the other teams will hate. He is chippy, skilled, takes liberties with goalies, and doesn't mind selling penalties.

Funny how one man's garbage is an other man's treasure Perron showed flashes of excellence here I hope he keeps it up for you guys. Paajarvi was a scratch the first 6 games because of the Morrow signing. He looked good in his first game as a blue in Winnipeg though. Even if he doesn't work out I like the trade because we saved salaray and Tarasenko is getting Perron's old minutes and thriving!

Too bad he isn't 3 inches taller & 30 pounds heavier. Really like his style. We still need 2 talented, large wingers on the top 2 lines.

BTW, Pitt has decided to retian Maatta so when Letang comes back, they'll be looking to trade a "D". Niskanen is a UFA after this year. Wouldn't mind seeing the Oil take a crack at landing him with a conditional pick and/or a prospect.

It's finally showing off that the trade was exactly what we needed. Too many people were bashing the trade when it occurred. I, too, wanted PRV to flourish, but it unfortunately never happened.

Perron plays harder than a lot of guys that are bigger than he is. What do you want? A team full of Byfuglien's?

I heard he was going to be traded for Arturs Irbe's old pads but the homemade stuffing on the left leg invoked his no movement clause.

In all honesty Perron is probably one of the only reasons I'm still watching games. The Oilers have not been a fun team to watch this year. Always seems to be something that goes wrong. I don't think they've dominated a game yet this year. However, Perron is probably the most entertaining player the Oilers have had since Esa Tikkanen. If half the team had as much fight as Perron we'd probably be in a way better spot today.

A better mix, with players like Burns, Bickell up front. Too many small forwards now. Sure, Perron plays bigger than he is which is part of why I like him. you'd prefer to stay small on our top 2 lines?

Toews Kane and Sharp are all similar sized guys to the Oiler's. Size does not alwasy equal toughness. Ex. Penner.

I'd trade Yak for Burns but no way SJ will let Burns go---he's having a "huge" impact on the wing for them. I'm with those who feel that the Oil need to re-balance the mix of assets to get size with skill and compete up front, not to mention better D & 'tending.
