Claim Maroon when he goes on waivers (the ducks continue to yo yo this kid, even though he brings size, grit as well as soft hands). Stick him on the fourth line and let him play the season, he may surprise and move up the lineup.

This Corsi stuff is coming to a head.

There should be a "Toronto index" which weights shots on Goal, or at least the quality of shot attempts, in Corsi findings. It'd be interesting to hear if that explains the disparity between Toronto's apparently dismal advanced stats and their on-ice success.

The Panthers probably wouldn't mind getting rid of Upshall as a dump.

Thats what I was thinking...tried to dig up more but all he said was that the Leafs have been looking for another impact forward. Not sure if that means a fourth line guy or perhaps Carlyle is worried about Kulemin's play.

Apparently Tootoo is being dangled right now, though I really dont think the Leafs should be spending any cap space on forwards at the moment...they have enough guys who can be called up for a few games that should do the trick.

Can't see it happening.....it's not a bad deal, but Upshall's contract is just as bad as Liles contract, so what's the gain? And Liles can play in the NHL, Upshall can't.

I dont see how this makes the Leafs any better...Gardiner is making $875k and say they retain $1M of Liles contract, they would essentially replace Gardiner with Kulikov who makes $2.5M at the moment and will be an RFA at years end.

Kulikov makes zero sense. How about what we really need - a shut down defenseman? a forward or offensive minded defenseman is exactly what we don't need. I've only seen kulikov play about 3 x but he did not remind me of adam foote let's just say

How good is JVR!? Big dudes got some hands, its a real treat watching him and Kessel play together. Its been many years since i've enjoyed watching some Leafs forwards take it to the other teams!

Leafs rocked after the 1st, and even the 1st wasn't as bad as the 2 shots suggest.

I was more disturbed with their PP and the their start to the 2nd period.

But the last 30 mins of the game they seem to start playing hockey again, I think a little bit of nerves in the 1st 30mins due to the last 2 losses had them fumbling and bumbling the puck

Looks so dam good all the time, always seems dangerous...Add the fact Kessel is a (frank)ing stud and we've got a sweet couple top line wingers...

did you watch the game last night? I liked when Cox is saying the Leafs didn't throw 1 check in the 1st period and in the background they are showing a shift and the leafs are hitting every player that touched the puck What a (frank)ing putz he is!!!

Kessel should have wired that puck he tried to dish to his boyfriend, (frank) Kessel you want to score 60 you got shoot ALL the time, unless JVR is open - DON'T PASS IT TO BOZAK AGAIN
