Jeff Quirin: Not Broken? Don’t Try to Fix it. Blues Win 3-2 (SO) Tuesday night in Montreal the St. Louis Blues tried to fix what wasn't broken and it almost cost them the game.

I'm more and more convinced Roy doesn't work with Hitch's system. He looks out of place regardless of linemates. I also feel like Berglund just doen't have the offensive prowess to keep up with Schwartz & Tarasenko. I'd love to see us trading our first plus Roy (for cap sake) to add a more skilled center to go with 9/91; then put Berglund back with Stewart plus either Sobotka or MPS, whoever looks better.

The penalty call was brutal imho as well. We were sitting behind that goal and you could see backes deflect/tip/knock the puck to the corner while skating backwards with momentum. Then then jumps/turns back to his left to avoid the crease area (probably did this to avoid hitting halak more than to avoid the net) but he doesn't cut soon enough and hits the far post. He made the attempt to avoid the net and just didn't make it. He didn't push it off. He didn't run right into the middle of the goal. I've seen a lot more deliberate net knock-offs not called at all.

Another extremely important factor is that there was no pending scoring chance. The puck had already been harmlessly played to the corner.

Said another way, think of it like this..how many times have you seen a tripping call when a diving player gets the puck first?

Seeing Sobotka's reaction live after both 2 on 1s was pricelss...not sure if you guys got to see his reactions on tv.
