Nice write up. I dont think any shot is a bad shot. Rebounds are a key thing for those dirty goals. I just hope they keep on firing the puck. Your going to run into a goalie who plays great once in awhile. Schneider won NJ that game. I was a bit shocked at much the Kings dominated NJ. It does suck to not get the win. But something is better than nothing when you put in all that effort.

As a Hawks' fan ive thought this same thing for years. While the Hawks dont have the same size and grit the Kings do, we always hear about how "they ran into a hot goalie". BS, if your going to take a billion shots a game, make sure there are rebounds. Might sound ridiculous because the Hawks do actually score a lot of goals, but its still frustrating because there are lots of games where they shoot all night long and end up getting nothing in return. The Avs game the other night comes to mind when the Hawks got blown out. They outshot the Avs by a bunch but Varlomov basically stopped them all because he had a clear line of sight and/or shots were blocked.

I can't believe Tanner Pearson missed that big fat rebound last night. That was served on a platter for him. Oh well, one of those nights, time to get ready for the next game.

Sometimes a goalie can steal a game but more often than not you'll find success putting a lot of shots on net.

Gotta give the Kings credit they played really well. It didn't help that the devils could barely skate but the Kings did a great job in their positioning and taking away space from the devs. Our D took a beating from your forecheck and still managed to hold up for 60 minutes, which I guess is the only positive NJ can take out of the game aside from Schneider.

And only a week removed from the Buffalo game. Same thing, different day. But I'll take it, sure seems to be working the past few years.

Guessing percentages may get better if we keep adding Carters and Toffolis etc.

Good write up...I was actually noticing how many times last night the Kings were primed to score and didn't....missing the net. I kept on saying they're going to regret that miss. This game, I just give all the credit to Cory Schneider and NJ for hanging in and closing the deal. Just one of those games.

This has been the Kings m.o. for years now.

They are not a very skilled offensive team shot wise.

While Gretzky is right with his quote, he was also gifted with some of the best hockey hands ever, so it is easy for him to say it.

The Kings love throwing pucks at the net, but a lot of those shots are with no front net presence, which makes those shots pretty pointless 9.9/10 times. While they do have skilled players up front, with the exception of Carter, those players seem to pick corners and miss more often than they get a shot on net.

I think it's the way the system is designed moreso than a lack of touch. Being a defense first team, they don't get the better chances that some of these other offensive minded teams get and thus we are left with a bad missed shot/shot on net ratio.
