Still hate shootouts, but I gotta admit that it's nice heading into the gimmick not expecting to lose. - Jsaquella

While I wasn't looking, Mez went from the highest +/- in the NHL to a mistake per minute player? Seriously, what happened? |

Hey we agree on this (just kidding) the shootouts don't hurt so bad with a great goalie, but I still hate it!
The 4 on 4 was exciting!
is last nights win, (an awesome comeback win & performance by Mason), another apparent indication of our need for help on the Blue line?
man, that could have been a 7-3 game otherwise |

Ring in 2014 with a win over the Flames, that would be very nice.
The D was pretty bad last night, but you have to give Vancouver some credit and hope all the stupid passes and turnovers are now out of their system.
And the Sedin's have an unfair advantage with that twin-telepathy going on. They are just oh so smooth. Except on that 3rd round shootout attempt where Daniel looked like he almost hurt himself. |

For a few brief shifts last night I thought I saw the Downie-Couts-Read line back together.
I'm not sure how you make it happen with the way Raffl is playing right now but that line needs to get back together. Downie has a lot to offer but it seems like he needs that calming influence of Couts on his line to show it. |

He broke. Injuries have really derailed him. He's not able or willing to play as physically as he did in years past and that seems to have him lost at times. |

I'm assuming it's the first time the Flyers have won back to back games via shootout. Confirm? |

I just hate deciding a game by not playing the game. Even last night, great, exciting game and the shootout was anti-climatic |

Despite Vancouver's territorial advantage in the game, I'll take the win.
I've seen enough Flyers games over the years where the Flyers had territorial advantage and a hot goalie or some act of nature kept the Flyers from winning. |

Per CSN post game last night, it's only their second time winning back to back shootouts. |

For the Flyers to have success in those day in the shootouts, Antero Niitymaki had to be prominently involved. |

A Happy New Year to all the Flyers fans out there!
Character win last night. It's nice to see goaltending steal some points. It would be nice to see # 75 in for # 41 tonight,. |

The "2nd line" - Hartnell, Schenn, Simmonds - isn't nearly as dangerous as they should be 5 v 5. If I'm tinkering, that's where I start. |

Same here!
It's like a true non fan's way (or the network's way), of saying, "ok, hurry up & make someone a winner right now" it sucks
like I said the 4 on 4 was really wide open, (not sure we would have done too well in a 10 minute 4 on 4 or down to a 3 on 3)

As I typed 2006, it suddenly dawned on me that the shootout is going into its eighth season.

I think back to back shootout wins from other games. Probs the first in consecutive games.
Either way its nice to have the confidence for a change going into these things with Sir Mason in net. |
