The two goal lead is said to be the most dangerous in hockey. 3 is pretty damn solid. It doesn'tmatter if iit's 'respectable', a loss to the panthers with no energy or heart and lazy turnovers is a bad game. There's no silver lining here. |

How about Tim Thomas right now? Guy is on fire and playing arguably his best hockey ever. I can totally see him being an Olympian over Howard right now; but Howard was the politically correct choice. Not trying to start anything here, but it's pretty obvious.
I was getting tweets last night from Isles' fans saying that Florida sucks and that they should have steam rolled us. Huh?! You've played two more games and now have the same amount of points. Both teams are so similar it's disgusting. Bad losing streaks, too cold of an offense most of the time, shaky goaltending when our starter is out... if we had a decent PP.. one that could score at least once in 5 games, we would be in a playoffs spot. If you guys didn't lose 10 in a row you would be, too. Season isn't over and both teams are playing amazing hockey. Long way to go. |

See, that is what I'm talking about. It can be said a loss to the Islanders is a bad game as well. |

But it isn't. In a league that sees the same 4 or 5 teams explode in the standings, teams like NYI and Florida are always going to be viewed as bad. In reality, they are the furthest thing from it.
EDIT: Ok not the FURTHEST thing from it but they aren't horrible. |

We dont have too cold of an offense. The problem is our defense and goaltending. Has been for quite a few yrs now. |

Islanders had a weak spot coming into this season (2 if you include goaltending). The defense was sub par at best. They lost 2 of their top 4 D-men in Strait and Visnovski for over a month and lost 15 of 18 games in that span (Nabby got hurt too). They got strait back (and the play of rookie Dehaan).. while this certainly did not solve their biggest issue. it helped a lot.. which is why they were 8-2 coming into this game in their last 10.. and in their last 15 have played a LOT better hockey. .... last night going into this game the Islanders heard Hamonic was not playing. He is our Top D-man on this team. Most Islanders' fans knew this was Death for the team. It moves A-mac up to top pairing and he has been an absolute abomination all year. If you watch the first goal on the first shift u can see him give up the puck (causing a 2 on 1).. and fall to the ice. You can also see him lose a puck at the blue line on the PP that gave you the break away Shortie....
It is not disrespect to the Panthers it is the Play of the Islanders defense. the Donovan / Carkner pairing could be the worst I have seen in 10 years in the NHL. Until we get Visnovski back and Hamonic back.... and possibly trade A mack. This team will not win a game unless we score 5 goals. |

Strome is an AHL All Star selection and not surprised that BST also looking for a boost. Also factor in that Bailey has an NHL contract and he needs to play.
