Yes, they are both pushing each other and playing very well right now. It is a good thing for the Blues.
Just like when they did it a couple of years ago. Halak got hurt in the second game of the 1st round, and that was unfortunate.
They don't need to make a trade. I wouldn't be opposed to a trade for Miller if the deal made sense for the Blues, but I have a hard time believing that a deal will happen with the limited cap space/demands that Buffalo will likely have. |

Hockey Buzz Eklund @Eklund
Well according to Wikipedia Ryan Miller has been traded to the Blues for Halak and a second round pick.
Done deal......

Im curious what your fasination is with the Blues.
Especially, but not specificly, their goaltending.

It would be a bonehead move to trade RoR.
You can't replace what he brings on a day to day basis w/o overpaying anyways.
Just give him the money. |

Closest guarantee to the Stanley Cup for the Sabres is CONNOR MCDAVID. Don't f it up!
Pieces are in place, add McDavid and others will follow.
Rome wasn't built in a day
The last the Sabres need to do is panic and overspend. Stay the course, please!!! We are set up for a lifetime opportunity!
Time to end the curse of Buffalo Sports history
Fn Arena Oct 2015 Announcement
"Buffalo goal, Connor McDavid his first of the year from Brayden McNabb and Jake McCabe.. time 2015"
Woohoo Free Big Macs when any of the McNasties Score
And then there would actually be a better more proud reason for widespread Buffalitis instead of just the winter |

RoR is worth the money he is asking for now and we wouldnt be able to get a better player than him in a trade. He is an amazing player and playing excellent on wing. Sakic loves the kid and Roy knows what he means to the line up. I think he stays with the Avs. |

O'Reilly....
If what they want back is defense, Ehrhoff is prob a guy they'd be interested in
Doubt that would be enough though
My thoughts would be to add a forward that could take O'Reilly's LW spot, or that could fill in at center if they ended up moving Stastny as well
Ennis or Ott would seem to fit
Both could be interesting depending if they were looking for scoring & speed from Ennis, or Ott can provide grit & leadership while winning key faceoffs
I could see a deal being made here
And I'd love to get O'Reilly
Drury, part 2? |

GARTH'S CORNER: Hitch Playing Halak and Elliott. For Now - garth
I get StL fans saying they don't wanna give up a lot for Miller... Makes sense...
Yes, Miller is a pretty good upgrade over their current goalies, but if they were to trade away Berglund, Oshie or even Stewart they are just weakening themselves upfront...
If StL is gunning for a Cup, that's a horrible idea
I do think there's a deal to be made here
But it's gonna be "NHL ready" prospects headed our way in return
That would fit for BOTH sides
And I also believe that StL definitely isn't set on their goalies...
Otherwise, one of them (or both) would've been extended by now

What about Tarasenko? Maybe him and a pick for Miller

That sounds good. Tarasenko and a conditional 1st if STL reaches finals. Sabres get second if St Louis just make playoffs and don't reach the finals. A third if St Louis doesn't make the playoffs this year. |

No.
Tarasenko is one of our best NHL forwards. Not a prospect, and an even worse deal for the Blues than Berglund.

Yeah, I am sure it sounds good for Buffalo. It is a terrible trade for the Blues. |

Hey, someone that is realistic.
The Blues are not giving up Berglund, Oshie, Stewart, or Tarasenko.
Buffalo wouldn't likely want back Halak, so there would have to be a deal somewhere else for Miller to come here. I don't see it happening. Maybe Miller will sign here in the offseason. Honestly, that is the best chance of him coming here IMO. |
