Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks Game Review: Third Period Comeback Not Enough, Naslund? The Vancouver Canucks put out a good effort but their playoff hopes dimmed a little more after they dropped a 4-3 decision to the Washington Capitals on Friday night.

Depends on what the managerial job is? If he is Vice President of beer and snack stand no one cares then. If it assistant GM then we have a problem.

Surely it has to be some kind of Hockey Operations Advisor, or something to that affect.

Dude... Melton canceled his meeting with the Cowboys... Stayed in town to try & hammer something out with the Hawks.

I wouldn't mind seeing Ferraro will a management position with the Canucks. Probably one of the most knowledgable hockey analysts out there, and the only one who's opinion I respect.

I think he would make a great scout but I don't know if he would be willing to take on such an "entry level" position.

This team needs Doug MacLean or Pierre McGuire as GM.

Don't really want either in the front office, but I guess if Naslund has some experience...

It really doesn't matter as long as FA is meddling...

Give em some kind of hockey ops title or special advisor title. Could end up being nothing more than a glorified scout but make the title sound better.

We brings a wealth of past success. Perfect goalie coach to help Lack ease into the starter's role.

I wouldn't mind him, but I think Maclean would be the better guy to rebuild through the draft. Milbury makes bad trades.

Pretty pathetic that Ferraro and Naslund's names are even being brought up as potential GM's.

Melton was a beast a couple of years ago and is still young. Rich getting richer if he signs.

I doubt they really are by the only person with a say - FA.

Realistically - it'd be nice to get a person in here who's paid his dues, a long time guy like David McNab (Nuckers suggestion). He's spent the better part of 30+ years doing what he's doing as an NHL managerial type.

The last two guys we've had in here had next to nothing for GM experience, yes Gillis was a player agent for a long time and Nonuts worked as Burkes chief bottle washer five years before taking over as the GM at the age of 37. But I'm talkin LONG term knowledgeable guys here.

What makes people think that a ex player turned TV personality is going to come in as a rookie GM and do a better job than Gillis? Gillis already has 5/6 years experience over them. Im not sold on the "they cant do any worse" tactic at all guys.
