Randall Ritchey: Talking Blues Prospects With Chicago Wolves Writer, Paul LaTour
The St. Louis Blues have many prospects playing in the American Hockey League with the Chicago Wolves. They have a handful of prospects with potential to play in the bottom six or the bottom pair, but they also have a few that have high end potential. Jake Allen, Dmitrij Jaskin, and Ty Rattie highlight their top prospects, so I talked with Paul LaTour, Chicago Wolves writer for the Chicago Tribune. |

Broken hand, that sucks. Anybody know when it happened? He did get taken down at the very end of the game last night but he seemed ok.
Nice article Randall. Edmundson is a guy who intrigues me. We could use a big physical defenseman, especially when it comes time for Jackman to move on. |

Good for Jaskin, but sucks that Tarasenko will be out that long. |

Wish we had some real info about Tarasenko rather than a soft piece on the Wolves...
Hand surgery on Wednesday and out 6 weeks at a minimum......this really stinks for a team that was pretty healthy overall. |

I guess on that hit behind the net. Unfortunate as there was 17 seconds left in the game.
This is why you build depth. Realistically, its almost five weeks before the playoffs start, so the Blues can hope to get him back sometime in the first round or at the start of the second round.
That's not horrible. The Blues can weather this.
If you hope to win the SC, you're going to have to battle through injuries. |

If you watch the Blues at all think Patrik Berglund but hits harder and has goes to the front of the net. |

Yes, and he is a perfect fit for this team. Looking forward to him getting an extended shot in the lineup. |

He is a solid player. I watched him in juniors last year and he absolutely dominated the game.
He looks like an NHL player when he plays. He is big, physical, good hands and great hockey IQ. His negatives are his speed lacks a bit and he is inexperienced.
He wins most of his puck battles in the corners and coming out of the corners or behind the net he is dangerous. Big, body plays in the tough areas. |

How much of the healthy scratches is due to the new rules of the AHL?
Haakanpa is the guy I really like. I do not agree that he is not NHL ready. Edmundson will be ready by next season but these players will not be in the line up just yet but depth pieces for next season unless some big trade comes along.
I really do not understand trading Fairchild but I suspect his size and injuries had more to do with it than anything. That kid proved to be NHL read a couple of seasons ago.
I am a little shocked that Rattie didn't get the call this time. The reason i would have called him up is you replace the scoring of Tarasenko and also give Rattie a taste.
I expect to see Magnus playing on the line with Oshie and Sobotka in order to keep that line fast but. I am not sure Hitch won't out think it and put Jaskin there.

Also, unlikely that Oshie is playing tonight. Going to be a dad, congrats TJ! |

She can't hold it in until after the Chicago game? Blues have two days off in a row after Wednesday.
No dedication.

Hmmm, enough time to make it to the game tonight, wonder if he will play? |
