Just curious why it's specifically attributed to Seguin and perhaps not Benn? Haven't been able to see the full games, but from what I saw they were always on the ice together. Don't get me wrong, Seguin is a hell of a player and plays C, but does this discount Jamie Benn a bit? |

they're both outstanding players. can't believe Benn was a 5th rounder. unbelievable considering his size and the fact that he played in the W. |

I tried to note that "the line" itself was playing so great, but I think Seguin's the one driving that trio based on past data. (In limited minutes this year, Seguin was better away from Benn than vice versa, for example. And, looking at WOWYs w/ Benn in Dallas and Seguin in Boston, there was more evidence that Seguin was responsible for territorial control.)
I don't know how many players are better in the league with the puck on the stick than Benn (especially in the scoring chance area), but historically he hasn't been excellent at driving play. Which is fine -- there are a lot of guys in the league that are just obscenely awesome at shooting and maybe just average or "good" at moving the play north. Guys like Bobby Ryan and Ilya Kovalchuk fit into this mold.
This is why Seguin's probably the perfect complement to Benn, anyway. |

This is accurate, of course.
I just think they complement each other so well. |

At one point Anaheim was on the PP w/ Etem, Rakell, and Smith-Pelly, who combined for 66 games played this season. The only problem that Seguin has given Anaheim was blasting a slapshot at Getzlaf's face. The only real hero for Dallas right now is Lehtonen, who's been scary good. Not sure how this series will end, but I hope you stay modest enough to know that you're playing against the Norfolk Ducks right now. |

Benn doesnt get your page views and everyone loves him, Seguin brings in the Hits and causes a poopstorm when "The Trade" is brought up around page 2 |

Benn and Seguin will be a dominating duo for the next decade. The Stars better fill that arena on a nightly basis to keep those two gems in Dallas because if either of them hits the open market. They will get top dollar thrown at them.
As for forward best duos in the league I would build a team around would go in this order.
1-Kane and Toews
2-Getzlaf and Perry
3-Benn and Seguin
4-Crosby and Malkin
5-Thornton and Marleau
6-Stamkos and ________
7-Backes and Steen/Oshie
8-Taveres and Okposo
9-Ovie And BAckstrom
10-The Sedins

The Ducks problem isn't injuries it's their coach. It's hard to believe an injured Getzlaf (1 game) and Rboidas (who played what 12 games) have reduced your team from competing for the president's cup to an AHL team.
Horcoff, Eakin, Roussel, and more have more points than Nutcracker perry and they've actually played defense as well. The Stars are playing a solid team game, over expectations for an 8th seed. The Ducks well their playing like a Boudreau team in the playoffs. |

I was thinking this was taking a little away from Benn as well. It's not uncommon for stats to only show part of the story, and I didn't want to be argumentative. Benn and Seguin have both been very good, they'be been great together all year. Benn has also been solid defensively and it's not his fault he doesn't have the possesion numbers when he creates his own chances off the faceoff and scores in under 5 seconds

Does.....does that say over 75% in G3?
What was the exact % in that game? What is the highest single game recorded, for that matter? |

Lol, he's not a ducks blogger.
And your team has been vastly outshot last little bit. How hard is that to understand? Not all on Lehtonen when Seguins line is pounding your team every minute they're on the ice.
Without Getz, the lack of depth is obvious. Ducks are in big trouble. You can't cry about injuries when only 3 players are out. Just means you have no depth. |

I would, not sure Nashville would though.
I'm really looking at Anaheim as a good trade partner here, especially if they get bounced in the first round here because Getzlaf is hurt - it will show their lack of depth, and they'll look to make that second line a threat.
Spezza would be a great fit and a big splash for the ducks to sell fans for the year after Selanne leaves. |

OK, you've sucked me into the trade Spezza conversation ..... its a slow Friday
get Silfverberg, Noesen and the 1st back from Anaheim for Spezza and then flip pieces to Buffalo for Stewart and Ehrhoff
but I DONT advocate trading Spezza |
