I read your write up again and it looks like you think the King/ducks are the tasty matchup. I don't think you can think aabout the home ice advantage much. Anaheim will almost be neutral territory...... it will be half full of Kings fans as it is only a half hour or so from staples center. When kings play in Anaheim it feels like a home game to for the Kings. The playoff atmosphere there with the Kings will be interesting. I hope Kings prove those possession numbers to be true and I'll go with the Penn's as the team that goes against the grain |

Dodger Stadium felt like home to the Ducks when they blanked the Kings last January. |

WILD IN 7 OVER AVES - rubberduckies
Not too surprising. How many teams win a series in this league with 2 of their top 3 centers and a top 3 dman injured?
Wild are an underrated team as well. They played well minus the dirty play from Cooke to give the Wild the edge they needed.
Wild still dont stand a chance against Chicago. |

The Ducks actually just did that.. Getzlaf (1c), Perreault (2c), Lindholm, and Robidas are/were injured.
Still pissed that the Avs lost. They've always been my second favorite team since the Joe Sakic days. |

Saying the same for SJ is just plain silly. Niemi isnt a great goalie. Barely a good one. Chicago's defense cleared every lose puck to the boards the year they won the cup. Anytime someone shot high on him it went in. SJ's defense isn't as good as Chicago's at the time. Regular season is one thing. Playoffs is another. SJ like Vancouver. Always a good regular season team. But don/t have what it takes later on. |

We will see you in a real 7 game series. Not a useless out door game that means nothing to most. Funny to pick out one game. Played somewhere that isn't home to either team. |

2 of theyre top 3 centers? Isn't only Duchene not playing? You still have Stastny, O'reilly and MacKinnon. And before you discredit anyone. Stastny has been damn good for you guys so far. |

Um yes.
I don't see it either?
Yost, you need to clarify.
Seems like the Rangers would be a solid bet.

There is a difference between injured and can play and out. Getz only missed like what 1 game?
Fair statement though |

The Stastny Mackinnon Gabe line was fantastic.
Duchene was out most of series and Mitchell missed the whole thing. It made the Avs a 1 line team and we got killed on FO. Avs had to run Cliche as a 3rd line forward and a kid who has played 3 nhl games to try and make it work.
RoR tried to play center but he is a winger and he didnt have the players to make the line work.
Avs D was bad enough as it was but then Hejda played all 7 games with 2 broken fingers and 3 pins in his thumb and couldnt even hold onto his stick. Once Cooke cheap shotted Barrie out of the series by damaging his MCL our D was essentially EJ and AHL guys. We also didnt have the forward depth to cover it up.
Wild played well, dont get me wrong. They won because the Avs were injured though, not because they were the better team. Thats hockey though, and thats why we love it. |

I kinda see what your saying. But saying that RoR tried to play center is crazy. He's been a Center exclusively until this year. Hes plays Center most of the time prior to this year. But have no Duchene is def a game changer.
On another note. Yes. One teams wins for w/e reason and that is why we love it. I just feel the Ducks guy who chirped in was redic. Seeing as Getz played 5 of 7 games. They didnt lose because Getz missed two games. Or because a Robidas got hurt. They lost because they put theyre egg's in the basket of a kid with no exp at that level |

You mean you would bet on the Ducks right? Because if your saying LAK for your bet to win then it just got real foggy. |

Man honda center gets loud when the kings score............you know this if you've been to a kings game there. Tons of Kings fans in OC that would rather make the drive to Honda center. |

Agree about ROR. But as far as Duchene is concerned, he did play in Game 7 (albeit I'm sure he wasn't at 100%) and did make a difference but unfortunately not quite enough (then again, one player can't do it all himself). I think Varlamov didn't exactly play lights out, and I think that was one of the main reasons the AVs didn't advance. It's too bad, because I like Colorado (particularly guys like Duchene, ROR, Landeskog, MacKinnon, and Barrie (who I was very impressed with when he played Vancouver the last week of the season). And I've also grown to like Roy (used to hate that bastid!) but I've really enjoyed him, his perspectives, strategies, and comments during his post-game pressers).
In any event, Colorado is going to be fine for a long time with the core that they have. |

ROR played C with Downie and Landeskog on his line while in that position. He had space created for him with those kind of guys on his line and really excelled. When he was Cing a line with Parenteau and McGinn, way different ball game, he got worked hard down low and couldn't produce any offence.
When he is on the Wing with Duchene. Dutch creates space with his speed and Hands which really complemts RORs game and allows him more time and space with the puck. Hes needs that skilled outlet to be effective, if not he can't carry a line anymore after riding with Dutch all season. |
