Call me a sucker for skilled players that lay the body whenever they can even if they’re a smurf.
So you ARE a Habs fan then |

Haven't seen Gionta or Desharnais hit anything but the broad side of a barn lately. |

Hey Frenchie, as it stands I think I would be ok with the Leafs taking any one of Ehlers, Fleury, Ritchie, or Virtanen. (assuming the top 5 stays as is).
As for Nylander, would you say he's a boom/bust prospect or worthy of top 10 consideration? And from what I have read he sounds a little like Claude Giroux, would you say that's a fair style comparison? |

When you mention Kevin Fiala cracking the top "6" I'm assuming you might think Vancouver takes him seeing as how Feaster is no longer in Calgary....
He kindof reminds me of Linus Omark |

Nylander is more of a goal scorer than pass first like Giroux, but their build is similar. I'd say like a lot of slight high end skilled players he's got a boom/bust moniker, but only because he hasn't shown many signs of changing his game (though he's 17 so, you know). |

Hard to say, a lot of teams like to shy away from riskier European picks and just stick with the CHL and USHL who have a large blob of two-way safe styled guys in that mid-late first. I would lean towards no. |

Do you see Demko going in the first round?
How does his game compare to Gibson or Subban or Fucale? Is he in the same conversation as those guys in terms of top end skill at the same age? |

I don't think he's as good as Gibson was at the same age, but his style is similar. I don't think any goalie goes in the first round this year. As for Fucale and Subban, both are similar in their energetic and athletic prowess being off the charts, but they are both boom/bust like a lot of those style of goalies. Demko is more of the style we're seeing, big, covers the net well, butterfly, has decent feet, problem areas above the shoulder. |
