Excellent picks in kempe and mckeown. Rich get richer. Can let them develop too. |

Good trade for both organizations - Vey fills a need for us, and speeds up the process, giving us more depth down the middle, competition within is a good thing. I hope that kids turns out to be a good one for you!! |

Not too thrilled about this trade but it almost had to be done. |

Makes it easier to follow prospects when they play on the same team lol. Two from Ottawa and 2 from Kingston. LA has a history of drafting teammates, just not usually in the same draft lol |

I agree a good trade for both teams. But I still hate it. As it was made with Vancouver. |

What the heck is going on this year with everyone trading within their divisions? The deal was a win/win for both teams, and I would rather deal with LA than say EDM. Now it's time to see who overpays for UFA's this year. |

You'll like Vey I think. The only reason he's not skating with the Kings now is we have a logjam at center. Hope he does well. |

IMO
It's not giving many GMs options since there are now 2 div per conference.
If team A in same div has better offer than team B in another division the team willing to part ways with a player will take the better offer regardless of same divisions. I think the whole mind of don't trade within your division is now past us and yet again another change of the NHL changes the gameplay.

I hate to say it guys, but I said we'd trade farm players before letting the proven roster starters walk. There's no reason to let them go. Yeah, I mentioned on another site that I didn't think McKeown would be a available but I'm glad I was wrong. Way to go Staff. |

I don't know that it was really that much of a revelation. Aside from the Andreoff groupies out there (you know who you are), I don't think anyone who has followed this team for more than 2 years would have thought otherwise. |

You're saying it now, sure. Dig up some of Jason's blogs during the playoffs and you'll see several posters debating against my view point. Many people stated we had to let one or two of Nolan/Clifford/King to make room for some kids, which of course we do not. |

I can't speak for anyone else, but I have always said to let the marginal players (Nolan/Clifford/Vey/Andreoff/Sabourin...I think King has earned his spot) fight it out in training camp and keep whoever performs the best, and trade/waive who doesn't. It's kinda silly to think that the Kings will "make room" for kids who haven't earned their spot yet. |

I agree, but lots of fans have stated we should trade said players in order to make room for players we may lose through free agency and/or age. Ie Clichรฉ or Clune etc. |

Well said.
There is simply no room for Vey and we are out of options with Vey at this point.
It is too bad we will never see Toffoli, Vey and Pearson together again.... |

Now it's just a question of whether or not he can clear waivers like he did last season. |
