I see a Ben Bishop type contract/bridge deal. I also think Andy will be extended.

From last blog:

I think Lecavalier is a possibility if they don't get Legwand.

I posted before the draft that the Flyers approached Murray to see if they were interested. Murray told them not really but....

If the Flyers were to retain some cap and the Sens were not able to fill that void later on they would re investigate.

I think a bridge contract would be best suited from him. As the transition from Anderson to him will start this season IMO. I do not think Ottawa wants to bet the farm quite yet even though the believe he is the furture in net, I think they would rather be 100% sure before they give him the big dollars.

As for the lecav rumors. He is a cheaper 20 goal scorer then what ppl are signing guys who put up less points for on the FA market. Plus he adds veteran leadership/and cup experience for the young kids Ottawa has. If we could move greening to get him I would be ok with that. Since then it does not take a roster spot away from someone else, and greening being gone makes the cap hit less painful.

I don't have an issue with Lecavallier at 1/2 salary.

Think he'd be a good #3C with Hoffman and Lazar on his wings. Ideally the Sens could find a way to dump Greening back to Philly..

But,

Stone-Turris-Ryan
MacA-Zibanejad-Chiasson
Hoffman-Lecavallier-Lazar
Condra-Smith-Neil
Pageau

That's not too bad in my opinion

That is a pretty solid mix of skill/size leading into next season if we had that line up.

i like that line up......except there is ZERO chance i'd break up macarthur and turris, so swap macarthur for either stone or ryan (i'd be good with either change)

The other thing people seem to forget is we have a very young hockey club that will only get better with age(like whiskey, wine etc lol), with not a whole lot of veteran leadership right now. Plus considering the veterans we do have I would much rather Lecav mentor our kids then Neil/Philips.

that right there is key.

vinny isn't a top six player anymore, but he can still play at an NHL level.

neil and phillips are absolutely not NHL calibre players anymore. maybe they provide off-ice leadership, but if i'm a young player who's losing ice time to either of those guys, i'm PISSED.

I agree completely. Vinny has won before and has high standards. Neil and Phillips have never really done anything. I'd trade for Vinny no problem...

To Ottawa
- Vinny 50% retained
- 2015 1st

To Philly
- Greening
- Gryba
- 2015 2nd (Dallas)
- Prince

Absolutely zero chance that we get their 1st for that package.

Gryba and Prince don't have a whole lot of value to be honest.

Hard to get anything right when there many things happening. I thought the info I was getting was interesting. Maybe it makes it more frustrating and raises expectations.
But reality is most of it doesn't for to fruition. For that I apologize.

But to answer the question yep, I gave some valid info;

Sens interest in Pouliot
Sens interest in Legwand
Sens being told the Blues were getting Likely getting Stastny thus prompting Murray to move on Dallas' deal.
Milo circling back to the Sens

Those are just most recent examples. But things change quickly. Very fluid business.

Getting any info from you with your connections whether it transpires or not is still 100x better then hearing half the rumored info from Eklund or numerous media outlets around the league that have more hearsay info at best.

It's not like I'm predicting Shiite, I guess I just I have to make clear between my personal opinion and what I think is happening.

I followed your stuff this past week and it was pretty solid.

Have to realize their is a group out there who want to bring back Alredsson, sign Spezza for 7 years at $50m., take LeCavalier off the Flyers hands, send Ceci back to the AHL and make sure Stone, Puemple and Lazar stay in the background forever.

I appreciated everyone of your posts.
