i still can't see SJS dealing a center of his size and abilities, particularly since you're not getting a similar player in return in trade. with pacific division getting tougher and tougher up the middle (hello dallas), SJS can't afford to downgrade in a key position.
strip the captaincy, give couture the 1C minutes, and send marleau off instead. easier to find help on the wing closer to value than center. |

Laich, Brouwer, pick for Big Joe.
Pick depends if you want to retain some salary. |

Jeff carter is their second line center. Sharks have pavelski n wingels on the third line. Thornton n marleau just don't have the kahunas to get it done in the playoffs like carter n kopi |

Sure the series loss to LA sucks, but I'm not sure you blame that on Thorton. I'm far from a Joe fan, but that's more due to the Stars Sharks rivalry. After years of some pretty good hockey and years of playoff disappointments you have to do something but I don't think you blow it up.
I think at this point Joe is better suited as a second line guy, especially in the playoffs, take a little pressure off him. I would have loved to see him on the Stars, not 100% on Spezza.

Go watch the last 3 games the Sharks played against the kings and you will see reasons why he should get the boot. After going down by one goal he was defeated. It showed in his face and the fact he was not watching play while on the bench. He just stared across the ice with this look of defeat on his face. He did it in all 3 games. A WINNNER and the type of player we need as a captain will get fired up and lead, not sit there and wallow in defeat before the game is over. |

love the look on Peter's face when Benning said trade Seguin, dont think thats what he wanted to hear....biggest blunder of his GM career , Phil a close second. Im a Bruins fan hated Joe leaving, hating Phil leaving and couldnt believe Tyler gone. Peter said during the regular season that our record would speak for itself....it sure did ...second round elimination to the Habs WTF.
People and management seem to forget in Boston that Julien dropped Seguin down to the third line because the dinosaur named Jagr had to get top six minutes. its hard to produce when you have been relugated to the checking line
Thornton is still producing and the Sharks will be fleeced in a trade of jumbo Joe so keep him ....period .
Karma would be Seguin and the Stars knock off the Canucks this year in Bennings debut in Vancouver...Karma is so Sweet |

You are comparing apples to dumptrucks.
Seguin has...ahem...issues.
Ones that rarely go away. - Atomic Wedgie
Does anyone really know, for certain, what his issues are? Sounds like he's just a kid doing all the stuff that we all did in college, except he's got more cash to make it crazier. He'll probably grow out of being a party boy. |

Wasn't that the same knock against Richards and Carter in Philly? I could be wrong...but I recall hearing something. We've heard stories about Kane. Now Giroux.
Change of scenery is what some players need.
Anyone else remember Niskanen being a throw in on the Neal trade because he had worn out his welcome per se in Dallas? Now.... |

apparantly it was such a issue this year in Dallas as he was nomininated for the King Clancy award for on ice and off ice leadership and community involvement .and he finished 6th in Hart trophy voting. yes we gave up on him to F#%king soon and will regret it for many years
I would have traded Lucic before the cement in his shoes drys |

Patrick Kane does cocaine during the offseasons. I've seen it with my own eyes. Yet the dude has a Conn Smythe and 2 Stanley Cup rings. Who gives a fack what they do off the ice as long as they perform well on the ice. |
