Jim Benning's former cohort Jon Weisbrod has joined the management team, while Willie Desjardins' Texas assistant Doug Lidster has been added to the coaching staff.

Jankowski stands out as a bad pick. He apparently mainly scouts collegiate and HS propsects. So I gotta assume he had a hand in their selection of Gillies in the third round which was a nice value pick. And also had a say in Boston signing undrafted Matt Bartkowski.

The fact that he's on the inconvenient (awkward) side of a late growth spurt means his bust status is being overblown IMO. Gotta scout the skillset first & foremost, then factor in extenuating circumstances when critiquing production. @ 19yrs old, not filled out & getting used to a few extra inches of height, I'd give him 2-3 more yrs before calling that pick a bust. When he's as comfortable in his new body as he was in his old body, the skillset will re-appear... It didn't go anywhere. Late bloomer.

Two powerhouse soccer nations...although I've never been a fan of the Brazilian style of play. And as I say that I want Netherlands to go through and Robben flops around as bad as Neymar...did.

Is there a team you want to win it all, or have they been eliminated?

I'm super excited by the hiring of Wiesbrod. Hopefully we'll be able to raid the Magic's farm system and uncover some gems.

I was hoping for better results from England this year, when I watched the 1st game against Italy I was impressed with their aggressive offensive pushes. Really thought they would put it together.

For a country so loaded with high end talent, they sure struggle on the world cup stage.
