Would love to see Simmonds play with Voracek, & "G", its putting all eggs in one basket approach, (sort of), but that would make an awesome line!

I'd prefer someone, who "demonstrates more skill in the defensive component of the game"..

I am a huge Voracek fan, but my only gripe is that he needs to shoot more. Not that I female dog about a guy who likes to set his teamates up but he did turn down some shots I would have like to seen him take. As Bill wrote, he scored on 17% of his shots so it's not like he isn't accurate enough to do so.

There's plenty of skill with V & G, Simmonds would give them a nice physical blend, (to round out the line).
Just an opinion

If Schenn gets the chance instead, I'd like to see Courturier play on the 2nd line with Read & Simmonds, with maybe Umberger in the 3rd line checking role.

Why Winger's defensive Job is to block the point, not too difficult.... Then again the Flyers did have trouble with that aspect last season..... G is the guy who has to backcheck on that line.

Barnes and McIlhargey begot a 2nd rounder, which along with Costello and Strong begot Sittler.

Got everything Darryl Sittler had left in the tank (84 goals, 178 pts) for two and a half years and then moved him for Murray Craven.

That's good GM'ing right there.

I want to see Voracek put with VLC. Put Simmonds and Schenn with G.

I think Voracek with VLC adds two things that will help VLC produce. A playmaker and speed. The two way game also doesn't hurt.

It also gives G two finishers who play a physical game.

There's plenty of skill with V & G, Simmonds would give them a nice physical blend, (to round out the line).

I've been beating the split Jake and G up drum for a while now...I'd like to see that happen.

Also, at the time of this writing, Lancaster is no longer "home". It's that time of year when Lancaster is designated "home home", with West Philly being called "home".

Thing is...I think Giroux is the best finisher on the team. So Schenn and Simmonds need to be astute at getting him the puck as much as he's getting it to them. Thats one reason why Voracek and Giroux work so well together.
