Thanks for getting us off the subject of the perennial losers known as the Buffalo Bills....

Great read once again. I love the way he plays and feel bad because of Risto, Zads and McCabe he often gets forgotten how talented he is. In a way I feel he's kind of like Larsson being over looked because theyre not players that put up glamorous numbers. Not saying that they are locks but both are underrated poised players

Those are ideal players to have. Those that do their job regardless of the circumstances. I feel like Pysyk has a chip on his shoulder, but doesn't make a scene about it. He plays his game and enjoys the game. That's a good thing to have in your locker room.

Pysyk is a perfect 3-5 guy.

He is getting slightly over rated though. Paul Hamilton said a while ago that he has a chance to be the teams best defensemen and personally I don't see anyway that happens. He doesn't have enough offensive production and he gets pushed around too much

He does however have a good outlet pass which is always vital.

Between Myers, Risto, Zads, and McCabe, I agree.

Agreed, but a few people in the media have said something similar. Not to say Pysyk won't be good because I absolutely think he will be, just doesn't do enough offensively of physically for my liking

If Mark Pysyk is the best defensemen on your team you have problems, lots of problems

I think that depends on how you're looking at it. In today's NHL, there's 2 kinds of defensemen out there. There's the offensive guys, that are going to get on the scoresheet often and there's the defensive guys. I think if you pair them together correctly, you'll see that one makes the other better.

Take Keith and Seabrook for example. I think Seabrook is actually the better defenseman. But Keith isn't exactly a slouch either. Take them away from each other and neither is as good.

I think that's the kind of guy Pysyk could be. He'll never actually be the guy that gets the most attention, but he'll allow his partner to take more risks offensively.

Now, don't think I'm actually saing Pysyk is the same type of player as Seabrook because they play very different styles.

The difference is though each Seabrook and Keith have that one quality that makes them better. Seabrook is a big stay at home let your partner take the risk D. He is 6'3 230. Keith is Keith the scoring D that takes risks.

Both are career plus 100+ D whiles Pysyk is a career minus (he does play for Buffalo after all). But other than a good first pass out of the zone Pysyk's play is rather uninspiring. Not saying that's a bad thing kind of like an offensive linemen in football he doesn't have to be noticed but like I said if Pysyk is your team's best D you are in trouble. He is a solid 2nd pairing guy.

He reminds me of a very young James Patrick.

I don't think our future is hitched on the success or failure of Mark Pysyk. It would be nice if he pans out to what he appears to be.

One of the 5 won't be here.

One will be used in the future to strengthen other areas.

just see Murray moving one before that happens.

IMO Risto and Myers are "Untouchable"(unless the payment is above and beyond).

Definitely, also has some Teppo to his game.

I love having guys like him and Gorges around to stabilize the more offensively gifted 3 that we have in Myers, Risto, and Zadarov.

Risto could be the guy that doesn't pan out though. Early evidence doesn't suggest that but when it comes to dealing a player based off potential he'd yield the best return.

Yet to be seen at the NHL level. Hope Myers can get it back.
