I would much rather like to get McDavid then win, canes are stupid so they try to win games and Sabres play to lose, just take a look at corsi stats through games, canes play and try to come back when losing while sabres gain corsi only on pp or when they are losing by 2 or more..sabres are not as bad as they play, they just want to lose.

Yes but in the end sabres will be last and canes will be 29th and some other team will win draft so that lucky team and sabres will end up with franchise center for next 20 years and canes will get cam barker

Wow, really?

One only needs to keep in mind some things to avoid failing at School of Smart:
1) Even the laziest players still have SOME pride. They're paid to do a job and that job is to win games. If you don't do your job, you don't get paid. On top of that, the players could give a rat's ass about who their team drafts next season (assuming they're even on it the following year).
2) Unlike the NFL, where if you come in last you get 1st pick, the NHL draft has a lottery element. As last place team, you have an 80% chance of NOT getting 1st pick. So really, odds are that a team won't get the #1 pick for being worst. And it gets even trickier in 2016 when they lottery the top 3 picks.
3) We're at 12% of the season done. That's a lot of hockey left to play. Coaches have jobs to keep and players want to avoid getting benched so they can actually have leverage for future contracts. The dumbest thing a fan can ever say at ANY TIME: "they're stupid for trying to win". It's one thing if the team is just not good enough to compete even if they give 110%. It's quite another to expect a team to give 50% when they finally have a chance to compete.

Hopefully these three tips will help you maintain a passing grade in the School of Smart for next year since it's clear you're already tanking your year.

Why I always find and idiot that seems to know everything, take a look at stats, you don't need to finish college to understand basic statistics...buf ff% in oct was 5 points worse then any other since 05...and 30th is getting eichel or mcdavid for sure, and remember 84 when pens lost a lot games late in season to get 1st pick? (frank)ing 21th century when kids have balls only on internet :@

Dude, I'm not sure if English is your first language or not, but seriously, please work on some basic sentence structure to help others understand whatever you're trying to say. "...buf ff% in oct was 5 points worse then any other since 05...", what the heck is that supposed to say/mean? Note, when you use ellipsis, people will naturally assume that you're trying to say a complete thought of some sort.

To quote you, "lost a lot games late in season":
1) the 'Canes were in game 9 (game 10 tonight). That means there's 72 games left. You have to be the most death-wish sensitive coach to expect (of course you never ask your team to tank) your players to start "not winning" 9 games into the season.
2) What kind of 'Canes fan are you to drink that kind of crazy juice?
3) In 1984, the draft system was like the NFL now, based on final standing. So, if you tanked, you were guaranteed the top pick. Unlike today.
4) Can you name me a player from the '83 Penguins that would even be considered for the HOF? Oh, right you probably can't without checking the internet. That's because that team was horrible. Guess your balls are pretty much stuck on the internet as much as you think mine are.

Remember two things: you started with "the canes are stupid for winning" and you think others who call you out on the stupid crap you say only do so because they hide behind the internet shield. Let me tell you something, you make it easy for others to see "stupid is, what stupid says". Good luck with getting rid of that reputation buddy.

But hey, what do I know, you're the actual 'Canes "fan" here, right?

Also, when you use ad hominems to deflect the fact that someone called you out on your totally random remarks doesn't make your remarks any more valid and mine any less. It just shows you have nothing credible to say.
