I said it in yesterday's thread but still feel like that hit was worse than Volchenkov's which got 4. I like Landeskog a lot but that is a suspendable play, spin that wheel.
I know Juice is always game to play but he needs to rest if he can't see properly, we need him in the next 3 games more than this game. With Stanton back and Sbisa/Weber playing better recently this team can afford to let him sit.
Horvat has a big game I think, also as good the top line was early they need to have a big game 5v5 for us. |

I'm not 100% sold on Horvat. He is in a tough spot. I'm not sure he is NHL ready. (I hope he proves me wrong.) but the CHL is a waste of time for him. I wish he was allowed to go to Utica and play with Shink and Jensen ect. |

I have no doubt Horvat will be a solid player. But he's only 19! I wouldn't expect any kind of meaningful contributions on the offensive side until he's 22 or 23 at the very earliest! |

It won't be a waste either way, if he plays in the NHL this season great, if he goes back to OHL thats okay too, at 19 there is always something you can learn. Just being up with the team is a great experience that he will learn from I'm sure. |

Me too, but it is what it is. I personally think he'll get his 9 games then WJC and OHL for the remainder of the season, possible call-up in the playoffs if we make it that far. And that's not a bad thing at all, he's got time. |

I only watched it once, but was the video feed of the hit you provided from the Colorado feed because they not only glossed over the hit to the head, but ignored it completely.
I am also getting frustrated by the lack of consistency in calling Boarding, Charging and Hits To The Head. Is there a standard anymore or do teams just accept the penalty, knowing it was a penalty and just move on? |

I am concerned that they are using Bo in this 4 in 6 road trip. Will this really show his worth in his nine games or is it just decided that he is here for the season? I don't think this stretch will showcase him and may even take advantage of him in California. |

Might as well play him against the best, win or lose they will get a feel for if he is ready. If he plays against EDM and CAR, is that really indicative of if he can compete at the NHL level? |

Horvat seems like he can handle it. I'm not expecting to notice him offensively, but it will be nice to see a recent draft pick in the line up! If we don't notice Horvat at all tonight that would be a good sign. Just simple, smart plays and nothing fancy. Would love to see him play in the world juniors too. |

Yep.
Not sure it will happen. From Linden speaking earlier in the year, thought he said if Horvat made the team than he wouldn't go. But I think the only way he makes the team is if he can go- more seasoning and regular part of the team after Christmas. |

Will he have OHL between the 9 games and WJC? Or will the Canucks try to delay the decision?

agreed. Be solid in his end, be able to press the forecheck hard and be high % in the faceoff circle. Pretty simple and focused assignment for him tonight, imo. Execution is the hard part. It is not like they are looking for him to be 2nd johnny hockey or anything.

Horvat would only become available after his OHL team is out of the playoffs which I suspect would be longer than how long the Canucks will last. Don't see them making it out of the first round playing teams like LA, SJ, Ana. |

World Juniors would benefit him for sure. Give him a few faceoffs, no expectations. Some of the other centers may want to start picking up their game.

I think he can go to the AHL after the OHL season if over. Hopefully the Comets have a good seasons and go on a long playoff run. I would rather Hovat play meaningful playoff minutes in the minors than a few protected minutes in the show (if we make it in). |

I think AHL is an option after the OHL season is over. Didn't Hodgson go that route? |

Keep in mind the only reason Horvat is in the lineup tonight is because Burrows is still on suspension. He would need to have a very nice game to supplant one of the veterans for more time on this trip going forward. |
