Trip and crosscheck on Couturier should have resulted in at least one penalty. |

Saw he scored. Good for him -- he's going to get a deal from the Flyers or elsewhere, with the way he's playing. And it won't be for one year for $1.3 million in August |

No, but he's a RFA, which definitely helps us. |

Absolutely -- but where that money comes from is gonna be interesting
The way he's playing, he might come in with a $4 million ask. Don't know if he has the balls to come in at $4.5 or higher, but he's already played on a bridge deal |

not a fan of the multicolored cage. i do like the matte finish though.
shocking that the flyers were able to pot some goals past him tonight when they didn't shoot right into his pads with no traffic. |

4M sounds about right. One of Grossmann or L. Schenn won't be back next year.

If we can wait two years on Schenn, he will be cheaper |

Premium on defenseman, so not sure about cheaper. I think he's a decent defenseman. But he's not moving ahead. He's stuck where he's at, and isn't showing signs of moving up. |

If Simmonds can play the left side, Giroux or Voracek could win the scoring title
I'm totally serious -- more likely Giroux |

I would like to see how he does there given some time to practice that role. 10 14 24 looked like a solid 2nd line. Could be a good one two punch... |

When Coburn and Mac are healthy what do we do? Someone needs to go and recently I feel like it should be one of them... |

I have no idea why it's taken so long to put those three together. Simmer is Hartnell w/o the stupid and all the falling. Perfect fit. |

If it had to be one of those guys I would say its easily AMac. But I think Carlo goes to the pressbox and Shultz probably goes with him (even though he is clearly out playing Schenn) |

Agreed -- that week off after Saturday's game might change the direction of this franchise, if Simmonds can truly play the left
I say that because if Schenn-Couturier-Read can produce against good teams, and if you give Bellemare a good defensive winger with some size -- hell, maybe even Raffl -- make it so they can take some of the tough zone starts off Couturier's back, what do you have?
A forward corps that can hide Vinny as much as it needs to happen for team success, and the Flyers wouldn't miss a beat |

TBH, I wasn't sure that Simmonds necessarily wants to play the left. But it sure sounded like from the quotes Bill posted that somebody recognizes that he just isn't going to get enough scoring opportunities with Vinny, and to me, Simmonds has to know that one of the greatest jobs in hockey right now is playing 1LW with Giroux and Voracek
You have to want to do that, as a player. Michael Raffl had, what, 5 goals in a week?
You have to want a piece of that action, as a player

I didn't mean just those two - in my own opinion, jettisoning AMaC is a must and a no brainer. Too much $ for too little in return. All these other guys do what he allegedly does and better. |

Thanks to Jagr for passing on the
Puck possession magic to Voracek. What a player. Please stay healthy man. |
