So many conflicts of interest here.
Ex-Lightning Quincey playing for Detroit.
Ex-Detroit Filppula playing for Tampa.
Ex-Detroit Yzerman GM for Tampa.
Namestnikov related to Slava Kozlov.
Before the Lightning came into the league, Detroit was one of my teams and still are to some degree. But it's hard for me to root for Detroit now because we are in the same division.
Thanks for Stevie Y. He has really turned this club around. Using Vinik's endless stack of cash, Steve has made all the right decisions. I still wonder if there was a way to keep MSL, but we don't miss him as much as I thought we would.
Good game so far. Bishop thinks he's Scott Stevens. LOL.

Not sure if you can really call Quincey an ex Lightning since he never played a game and was just a favor Yzerman did for Holland since Colorado didn't want to deal with Detroit. I kind of wish Yzerman never had done that favor for Holland...Wings could have used that pick to pick up Maatta and he would already be an upgrade over Quincey.
In other news baby Bert got 2 goals and 7 points for Guelph in a 9-4 win over London. Hell of a game for him. |

I bet. Quincey is no Stralman. I am sooooo glad Stralman signed here in Tampa. Hugely-underrated signing at the time. He has far exceeded expectations.
I hope Nyquist doesn't get another highlight reel goal against us. That goal from last year was sick.
We'll trade you Morrow and a 2nd pick for Nyquist.

I can't believe Babcock sent Helm as the last shooter The player on the Wings who gets the most breakaways but converts the least. |

I made a joke on another site earlier this season that Babcock was going to send Helm out in the shootout after he had missed chances and breakaways all game but I never really thought he would be dumb enough to actually do it.
Next time I predict Mrazek will get to shoot.
Try Smith instead of Helm ffs since at least he was a shooter in the shootouts in Grand Rapids and apparently wasn't too bad. He sure as hell can't be much worst than Helm was tonight. |

Doesn't really seem to matter who goes out there to shoot anyway, no one is able to score on them, and Howard can't stop any more than 1/3
2-5 record past regulation. 7/15 games past regulation. Need to start picking up those extra points |

Instead of signing guys like Cleary maybe Holland should sign some guys that are money in shootouts. |

The disbelief you felt when Babcock sent Helm for the shootout, is the same feeling I had when Cooper sent Carle to the shootout. LOL.

It's because they practice against Howard so they are used to facing a goalie that can't save poop in the shootout. |
