Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks Game Review: Turning the Tables in Anaheim The Vancouver Canucks ended their California road trip on a high note as Nick Bonino scored the shootout winner against his old team to give Vancouver a 2-1 victory over the Anaheim Ducks.

Thanks Carol,

NOT a great showing against SJ and LA but they managed 6 of 8 points on the trip, hard to be upset with that but they really found out how much better they've gotta be to beat those teams.

Agreed. But I'm thrilled that we're measuring the team against some of the best in the league, rather than the "make the playoffs" bunch.

That's a big step forward from the expectations we were harbouring over the summer...

Just reading the Provies and saw this tweet mentioned:

@TheStanchion I enjoy it when they show Ryan Miller on the bench and I think Daniel Day Lewis from Gangs of New York is now a Canuck

Last year this team found a way to lose games likes the one's in SJ/ANA/COL, so far they're winning them. The 2nd line has quietly actually produced pretty respectable numbers so far, compare them to other 2nd lines around the league and they;re definitely keeping pace with some of the better teams. Bonino's shooting percentage will come down to earth a bit, but he's going to be one of those guys that constantly has a higher than average shooting percentage with that great wrist shot, he also doesn't just throw pucks at the net, he shoots to score.

Obviously this team isn't good enough to hang with the big boys yet(SJ/LA outplayed us, and we beat ANA without Perry and their top D pair), but if they keep this type of play up I don't think think we'll see Benning sell at the TDL.

Can't believe I actually listened for more than a minute, but that guy lost me when he completely wrote off Vancouver as a playoff team(and this is coming from a Canuck fan who had this team pegged in the 8-10 range in the West).

Is that Barry?

I wanted to go back and see what I called out for the last half of the this road trip.

next game against LA will hopefully be a good hustling, gritty game. The game against Anaheim may be interesting as we havent been good yet on back to back nights. But it is against Kes so...maybe they will get up for it.

I just hope we get up for the game against LA, if we play well I think we win this one. But lose to Anaheim in OT.

I pretty much had it 100% backwards.

Well again, I stopped listening after that statement. I'd do the same if he said "the Stars aren't gonna make the playoffs" without good analysis to back it up. He's just another talking head(a fan with a job). I'm gonna assume he didn't use any stats outside of the last 2 games to back himself up either.

Must be a nice guy, but he's a (frank)ing horrible analyst.

Even if he turns out to be right, he comes off sounding pretty unintelligent.

The Canucks have been owned by the Kings for the past couple of years, but i don't think you can say that the Canucks are not a playoff team because of that. Kings are one team and i'm pretty sure the Canucks do well against the rest of the league as they've proven so far.

oh and it was Kassian they were missing from the lineup.... thanks for being informed.

The President's Trophy is all about showing up to work, M -F, and putting the time and effort in for your fans.

Everything beyond the regular season is just a corporate cash grab put forward to exploit the worker and charge exorbitant prices for tickets to games that Joe Six Pak could never afford to pay.
